About my libraryAll of the books listed in my library are actually on my shelves. I still have some books to add, but I'm also trying to properly maintain a hardcopy version of my library and have not felt inspired to get them all loaded here and on paper. I am easily daunted by simple tasks!

I just finished reading Olive Kitteridge and I am so sorry there are no more chapters - I loved it so much. I imagine the author must be an incredibly interesting person, so I've been reading some of her interviews. I envy your meeting her.

My picture is a Tiffany work that I first saw hanging in the gem room of the Field Museum in Chicago. I almost missed it, because you have to look up, and I was so busy looking down at the gem display. The glass was backlit and stunning. I think the mermaid is mesmerizing, striving upward in conversation with the fish. I bought a print for the wall and borrow a picture for my icon. Glad you like it too.

Happy reading. Now I'm working on a Short History of Women, I've been very fortunate with Early Review books lately.

Hi,
I enjoyed perusing your library and hope you don't mind being added to my interesting libraries list. We have 155 books in common, and they include some of my favorites. I found you through your review of Invisible Sisters, which I thought was very good. I am addicted to the Early Reviewer program and an thrilled to be reading Olive Kitteridge which arrived today. It looks wonderful. Happy reading,
Mel
Hi, I just joined this site. I noticed that you're a poetry fan. Have you read Unexpected Light? Here's a link: http://www.cechaffin.com
How awesome is this? I'll have to finish filling this out asap...
Hi Bethann,

I was so delighted to receive your letter. I want to thank you again for your thoughtful and generous review of "Tomato Girl," and tell you how pleased I am that you also read "Forms of Intercession," my book of poems.

I've inquired about an Author's badge. Maybe I'll see it soon.

All my best,

Jayne

Hi! I'm glad you liked the header image from the site so much. My husband chose the stock photo from this great photographer:

And adapted it for the header. I too tend to just stare at it. :) If you like that one, I think you'll also love this one, which we used for our writers' exercises blog:

I often wish I was good with a camera so I could take photos like those. Nice to meet you, and I enjoy your collection of books!
Well, hey there, bethann!

Yes, indeed, fancy meeting you here. I didn't know you were on here at all! I see that we have some of the same books, including some of the same Queens books. Heh.

I hope you had a lovely weekend, and that you're enjoying the current book(s) you're reading.

montaigne's essays and pilgrim at tinker creek are two of my favorite books -- and most recommended.
i thought you might be a miami friend beth ann reed, whose interview/stories with an old-timer of the everglades contains much fascinating lore (esp. the eels). . . and just called her, but nope! you probably will like some of my own books, at least those combining natural history and poetry . . . am debating whether to send in books for early reviews (i am a publisher as well as author)
