Think of all the great books and stories that have been destroyed and mutated almost beyond recognition by Hollywood. The camera and reworked script would concentrate on all the gory violence, forced sex, S&M scenes and the incest while all the while forgetting Salander's alluring mysteriousness. Hollywood would turn Salander into a Malibu Barbie bibmo to play against Blumquvist's sleezy San Francisco starving poet Ken.
No, the movie I ran in my head while enjoying the book could never be equaled on screen.
By the way, when I read the book and wrote my review, I had no idea Salander was part of a series. I had just heard a lot of chatter about this title and decided to check it out. I am still undecided if I want to continue with the series.
