Oh, and a quick p.s. . . . How are things going with the Mission Reds project?
Hey there! I just came to check out your LT profile since you are at the top of my weighted Members with Your Books list. I see you've recently added Satchel, which I got as a gift for my birthday this month, and The Old Ball Game, which I read recently and enjoyed tremendously. Cheers! Jerry
Hi, How is the day
Thanks for your number. Keep on touch with me.
Hi, How do I call you, may i know your real name
Dick! Dick Beverage, you old Hound Dog- glad to hear from you.
Well, I guess that you are still ahead in the Great Librarything Baseball Book Race, as my 1331 titles include guides, registers, who's whoses and all the SABR journals. Rats!
I will certainly be getting your PCL books when they appear, as I have all the ones already published, and will be looking forward to them.
I was wondering if you would do me the favor of writing a review of my book for the Librarything, if you've the time.
And, I too am close to finishing my next book (95%+ done). Its called "Puppets, Pawns and Patriots", and its about the stories behind the stamps of the Minor Axis powers, 1940-1945. I'm about half done with one titled "The ABCDarian book of Words and Baseball", and have started on two other projects: one about the Ford Western Company members appearances in episodic Television westerns, and one on movies about Burke and Hare.
Oh, and my son is ranked 17th (so far) in the state among freshman in cross country, and he might bust a big run this weekend- I'm really excited about his future in the sport!
Keep on Rockin' in the Free World,
Jamie
Howdy, old trivia pal! I just joined last month and am still figuring out all the buttons on our new steam-powered communication and information collecting device. I have a few questions for you: Did you count all the Research Journals and Pastimes as separate entities? Do you have fiction under your baseball "cloud"? How about "Who's Who" issues? Any more PCL books due?

Jamie (short, Hawaiian shirts...)
Richard, Greetings once more! I just finished Frankie Frisch: the Fordham Flash, Frisch's very good "at told to" autobiography. I see you've got this book, too, and was wondering whether you've ever had a chance to read it. If not, I highly recommend it. Fascinating, firsthand look at baseball in the 20s, 30s and 40s, including playing under John McGraw with the Giants and playing with, and managing, the Gas House Gang Cardinals in the 30s. Cool stuff, and well written. Cheers, Jerry
Hey Richard, thanks for the note, and no problem about the timing. Guess what? You are now at the top of my "Members with Your Books" weighted list! (68/1934) So since you've got the Guzzo book, I've gotta ask . . . are you a Strat player?

Your project on the Mission Reds sounds fascinating. Hope it's not too rude to try to horn in, and it sounds like you've got plenty of help, but should you need an extra pair of eyes/ears to do any additional research for you, let me know! I'd be happy to do it for the fun of it. Best, Jerry
Greetings! See you've got a massive baseball book collection! I've just found LibraryThing and have only posted a few of my baseball books so far. With luck, I'll be getting to my main baseball shelf soon. I see also that we both list Glenn Guzzo's Strat-O-Matic Fanatics book. I haven't read it yet, but I'm looking forward to getting to it soon. Best, Jerry
