Groups1001 Books to read before you die, Australian LibraryThingers, I Survived the Great Vowel Shift, Nature Lit

Favorite authorsJohn Berger, Angela Carter, Maurice Sendak, Raymond Williams (Shared favorites)

About me way way back i read all the books on the shelves of my junior and adult public libraries
way back i got a first-class chemical engineering degree, but collected my first collection of readings in semiotics and anthropology
a little less far back i got a PhD in history and social studies of science, but spent my time as a trade union activist, libertarian socialist and subversive in a science-based corporation
i drew cartoons, made posters, designed books
a little more recently (only 20 years ago) i got a middle-school teaching qualification, followed by a job in regional economic development and community development (the Greater London Council)
between times i published two books, taught systems theory and creative writing, theorised on human-centred design, was a co-founder of a radical academic journal collective
stuff happened
i became business school senior research fellow, an organisation development facilitator, a sociologist of work and technology, a protagonist of computer supported cooperative work, eventually an anthropological fieldworker, fly on the conference room wall
more stuff happened, a segment of life and academic work in australia, back to england stop press - i retired

About my library very small - reduced, reduced and reduced again
plenty of pictures
largely non-fiction
except for children's books, fantasy & cyberpunk
