About meI studied giant flightless birds at Duke for my PhD, and teach digital learning skills at the University of Canterbury. I like the ukulele.
About my libraryMy books are pretty much split between modern fiction, design/typography, very random non-fiction, and cooking. Currently 475 of them are packed into exactly fifteen 10" x 12" x 15" boxes, each weighing between 35 and 40 pounds. That's 15.6 cubic feet, and about 560 pounds (or 250 kg) of books total. So an average book of mine weighs 1 lb 2 oz. Who knew?
They're all stashed in unit L107 in the Public Storage Facility on East Club Blvd, Durham, NC, though this is really more for my information than yours. It's not an invitation to go swipe them. Good luck with that. Also even if you succeed you'll only be saddled with 560 lbs of used books -- hardly worth going to jail for (though you'll have plenty to read while you're inside, I guess).
