About meCurrently a Ph.D. Candidate in German. I will be studying in Germany next year to do research for my dissertation which I will most likely finish in the next 3 years. My research involves issues of the sublime in masochism leading up to the works of Leopold von Sacher-Masoch, for whom masochism was named.

I am also the graduate of a women's college, which has greatly shaped me as an academic and a woman.

About my libraryMany of the works here reflect my growing academic library. I was also an international relations major in college, so there are a number of works related to US/European politics.

Though my work focuses on the 19th century, I have read broadly on the topics surrounding BDSM though not all of these books are in my catalog, because....let's face it....I'm a graduate student without unlimited funds. :)
