About meWriter with a good day job. Writing short stories in every second of my free time. I also write poetry, which is on the back burner of my life right now.

About my libraryI have hundreds and hundred of books...a lot of inspiring, encouraging type books and everything else you can image. I enjoy learning about home design and building; I have a lot of science fiction; and I'm addicted to the Cat Who series.

Lately I've been reading everything by Donna Leon, Haruki Murakami, Raymond Carver, David Madden, Alice Hoffman, and many, many more fine short story writers.

Groups The Writers, Bookcases: If You Build/Buy Them, They Will Fill, Deep South, Hard-Boiled Wonderland, Mark Twain, Short Stories, What Are You Reading Now?

Hi Kathy,

I've had some luck lately with publishing excerpts from the new novel(now called Trestle). Heavy Feather Review has published a short chapter in its January issue (http://www.heavyfeatherreview.com). In February This Literary Magazine (http://www.thiszine.org), will publish a long excerpt, and in March carte blanche, published by the Quebec Writers' Federation (http://carte-blanche.org/)will publish the prologue. I've done one last rewrite of the entire novel and you're welcome to check it out at http://www.willcall.org/head/pdf

Best,

Alex

Hi Cathy, Thanks for stopping by! I have been out of town for several days, so I apologize for not writing sooner. I love your LT name -- it sounds like summer itself! Reading together with the kids is probably our favorite activity -- high achievement in school is a happy by-product! Have a great weekend.
