About meYoung-adult librarian in public library in L.A. Now reading mostly YA and children's lit and graphic novels and trying to find time for mysteries, fantasy lit, other fiction, literary biographies, books on books and reading, and travel narratives (because salary can't send me to actual places as often as desired).

About my libraryHere, mainly my collection of fairy and folk tales, myths, and legends (including Arthuriana). Especially like collecting illustrated tales. Have also included books on books, travel, children's literature, and language. Slowly adding selected fantasy books.

Oh Grace! I LOVE Virginia Sterret! It does seem a crime to print her gorgeous works in B&W!
I would have bought the book if her works were given their due (and then, of course, read the book :-) Thanks for your response and the great link! - Pat :-)
I see you have this book in your library:
Old French Fairy Tales by Comtesse De Segur Fredonia Books (NL) (2004).
How would you rate it? Does it have illustrations by the cover artist throughout?
Any info you could share would be great. Thanks... Pat :-)
Hi again fellow fairy tale lover. I wanted to tell you about a book I know you will love. I ordered English Fairy Tales and Legends by Rosalind Kerven right after xmas and I was so pleasantly surprised to get it and see how nice it is. It's a small hardback published by The National Trust, which I think is a British cultural organization. The pages are so nicely printed and it is filled with well-produced illustrations by Dulac. It's just a nice, sturdy, beautiful little book with a wonderful selection of well-told tales and only $18 on amazon so I wanted to alert you.....Are you reading anything wonderful now? I am always in the market for recommendations myself.

Boy, our taste in books is so similar! Whenever you add something, it's either something I want or already have! I get the best suggestions just by looking at your library.
