About meWhen I was little, my mom worked in a library. She'd often bring me to work for part of her shift and let me stamp the "date due" cards. The library was a source of wonder to me, and it was fascinating to me to see my mom play a role other than "Mum". The place must have been magic. It didn't hurt that my brother and I were the first kids in town to get to read the latest Robert Munsch, and "Book Lover" was my first badge in Brownies.

In high school, my first part time job was as a page at a branch library. It was the perfect job for a teenager; no late nights, clean environment, and understanding boss when I needed to take a shift off to study for an exam. Also I had my pick of great books and magazines to read on break, and could set aside things for school projects during my shifts. It was great.

I still love books, and libraries.
