About meI'm a retired elementary school librarian. My life-long passion for books has been my guide throughout much of my life. In a large way, "You are what you read" is true for me.

About my libraryMy library is organized as both shelf list and diary. The P before some authors last names denotes paperback. The z in the Dewey column is a book I have read but do not currently own. Every book I have read since mid-1998 is accounted for in my catalog.

Hi, Linda,

I just wanted to let you know that I did finally get the Santa Thing books you chose for me. I actually got them two weeks ago...sorry for the delay :(

Such great choices! I can't wait to read them, but I can't decide which one to read first! The Seamstress sounds like such an engrossing story full of tragedy (and besides, she sounds like a rebel like me!), but Jack and Rochelle sounds so good as it deals directly with the Resistance. Guess I'll have to toss a coin on this one :)

As a side not to the previous comment you got, you should try to get a copy of Snow Flower and the Secret Fan. Great book!

Thanks again and happy reading :)

Lisa
Hi Linda!

So glad you received your books! I actually ordered three of them for you, but it looks like they took one off the list. When I ordered them, it was under $25, but now it says it came to $26.34 so they eliminated one. Pretty frustrating considering it clearly told me they were under $25. The third one was supposed to be Snow Flower and the Secret Fan. Sorry about that! I do hope you enjoy the other two you did receive. Keep me posted. :)

Take care,
Kelly
Hi Linda!

I completely understand as I haven't received books from my Secret Santa either. Oh, well. I guess it just extends the holiday excitement a little longer! I hope you enjoy the books I chose for you. They are some that I personally enjoyed a lot. Out of curiosity, how were you able to see which ones I chose? I have no idea how to find that information on here since they removed the Santa Thing link from the main page.

Yes, Fontana is a lovely area. My husband and I took our three kids for a walk along part of the lake path this summer and they really enjoyed it. They were drooling over all the beautiful homes. We had hoped to take them past the homes where I spent my teen years, but they were in Abbey Springs and the guard wouldn't let us in. My brother-in-law is a builder in the area and said he'd take us in sometime this summer, though.

I'd like to add you as a Library Thing friend since we seem to share many of the same interests in books. Happy Reading and best wishes to you in 2011!

Kelly
Hi Linda, So glad you liked the books. Your library has many of the same books as mine, so I was hoping you'd like the same books that I do. Enjoy them & have a great holiday! Judy
Linda,

I received my SantaThing package in the mail today. Thank you so much for the books! I haven't read anything by either author and look forward to doing so now. They both sound like they will be very good. I hope you got something good too. Thanks again!

Hi,

LibraryThing contacted me and indicated you were one of the winners of the Early Reviewer Giveaway (for my novel, Dirty Little Angels). Please send me your e-mail address (mine is mail@christophertusa.com), and I'll send you a copy of the e-book.

Thanks for entering the giveaway,

Chris
I received my SantaThing gift today! Thank you so much for the wonderful selections, I can't wait to get started.
My Sister's Keeper and The Pact were #1 and #2 for me. I cannot wait until My Sister's Keeper comes out in the movies.
You live in Fontana? Lucky soul! It's a beautiful place. My aunt also lives in Fontana and my cousin has a summer house right next door. When we visited them last summer, they gifted us with a big pile of Lake Geneva books. I don't know if they were trying to entice us to move there or just wanted to share their love for the place.

J, for the Hamburgerlcan
Thank you for my SantaThing books and your sweet note. I can't wait to read these books!

All the best for a happy holiday season.
Best,
Christy
