About meI have worked at a large new-and-used bookstore chain for over 21 years. Before that, I worked at SMU's Fondren Library and the UT-Austin main library. I have also written and performed music since about 1971. I have four kids, three out of the house, and a wife who has four times as many books as I do. I love books about music (but not so much music about books).
About my libraryMuch of my library is jazz and pop music-related: musician biographies, music criticism and reference. I also have a lot of fiction. Favorite fiction writers include Alice Munro, Kazuo Ishiguro, T.C. Boyle, Graham Greene, & Eudora Welty. Other collections include: race relations/black studies, baseball, travel/WPA Guides, New Orleans, and film criticism. I have art and reference books, too, but haven't listed many of them yet.
