About my libraryFor personal reasons, 2009 is The Year of Discarding. I started the year with a little over 600 books in my possession, and my goal is to end it with 300. I've always used LT strictly for books I own, but these days I'm experimenting with the new Collections feature to keep track of titles I've discarded.

The tag unique means I'm the only one in LibraryThing who has catalogued it (last time I checked).
The tag family treasure means the book belonged to one of my grandparents or great-grandparents.
The tag forswap means it needs a new home. Want it?

Delighted that you are reading "The Pushcart War"! (And I hope you will find/read Russell Hoban's "The Mouse and His Child.")
Receeived last week, thank you...
Hi, bookherd,
Thanks for sending the Kate Greenaway story. I drafted the book review into Library Thing.
Seleni (Asmah)
whoa. i just dropped it off yesterday. that was fast. i don't think i'll be disparaging the postal service anymore; it seems really undeserved. oh, and you're welcome.
Thanks Lindsey!

Looking forward to reading them :)

Suzanne
Thanks Lindsey! I will look for Die Struwwelliese in the next couple of weeks. I will let you know when it arrives.

Monica
Hi, Lindsey,
I began The Secret Door. The story and bookmark bring back a bygone era. The turquoise drawings are based on those of Kate Greenaway. Thanks.

[The Friendship of Women] and [Jane Eyre] arrived today. i'm so sorry, but i'd forgotten. i still haven't sent Kingsolver. i'll have it off by tomorrow, or at the latest, Wednesday. since i've yet to mail it, do you want [Vanity Fair]?
thanks. i'm trying to branch out and read works other than sci-fi & fantasy. so i tried to randomize it by entering the lottery for books i wouldn't otherwise read. seemed like a good idea at the time. yours was the first i won. so i guess we'll have to see how clever an idea it was when i finish The Friendships of Women. thank you, and have a nice day. oh, do you have any requests? i have piles i've finished reading, and even more piles i doubt i would ever get to. do you have a wishlist? if i have i'll send it by.
Thanks. The book will tell me much about this fascinating woman.
Thanks so much for the book and the library compliment!
Hi-
Just a note I uploaded a book cover for:
The Fairy Green
by Rose Fyleman
in case you want to grab it.
Cheers-

Hey, I just saw that you added a new book about small houses. It was listed on the first page of LibraryThing under Collection News. You're famous! I want to be like you when I grow up.
