About my library The combined collection of the bookzombie household! Books without SBNs are not yet up, nor are the 1500-odd sf magazines (not sure how I'm going to do that...).

SF, fantasy and childrens' books form the core of the collection, with thrillers, historical, classics and modern novels in there as well, plus a sprinkling of non-fiction.

Wow, you have a lot of books. I just wanted to say Hi! as we are the only two people to have E. Nesbit's "The Island of the Nine Whirlpools".
A high proportion of our children's books are Mrs Bookworm's, but I do have an interest in some of them (not the 'girly' ones!), especially children's SF/fantasy and historical fiction.
Just dropped by to say hello! You have now hit the top of our 'weighted' list of 'most shared books', and the rarer ones that we have in common are an interesting bunch!
Nevermind, that is the one I was thinking of. Have a good day!

Hello!

I have a question for you, if you please. I have been looking for years for an author I enjoyed as a tween. I have reason to believe it may be Robert Westall, but I can only find partial descriptions of his books online. I was wondering if you would be able to give me a more accurate description of A Place for Me? It would really help me out AND make my day. Thank you!

Eliza
Nice to meet you too - you have now been watchlisted! I must also catch up on the cataloguing backlog (though it's what I do at work all day, so perhaps I have some excuse for being behind!)
We have 142 books in common, and I wondered if you were the bookzombie who is an LJ friend of Cabell?

And lo and behold, you are. Hello!

I'm another person who catalogues every book in the house, but most of our overlap seems to be SF, all of which is actually mine. Mind if I add you to my watchlist?
Ask Mrs. to lend you "the Winter of the Birds." Good to read this time of year. Esta1923
Love the user name.

Happy cataloging to you.
Hey BookZombies, the 100 books we have in common are pretty much my favourite hundred, so I have to compliment you on your good taste :-D. Well done! (Although I am a bit concerned that I have the same taste as a household, maybe this means I have a multiple personality). Good to see Professor Branestawm there, and Ruby in the Smoke, and Warrior Scarlet, and.. oh I'll stop now shall I.
Polaris is one of a big box of second-hand sf books my grandfather gave me about a year ago, which I've just recently entered into LibraryThing. It wasn't on top of my to-read pile, but with a recommendation along the "so bad it's good" line I'll definitely have to escalate it :)
Hi Mr. and Mrs. Bookzombie, I'm another SF magazine collector. If I could figure out how to get my roughly 1,700 mags and digests in LT, I'd invite you to take a look. Like you, I keep full records of the short stories contained in these volumes but I use Excel.
My questions are: Do you have a pile of duplicate mags and digests like I do? Would you like to trade your duplicates with me, assuming we don't possess duplicate duplicates? Oh, and where are you (might make a BIG difference!)?
Kelly
I don't think I mentioned this anywhere else, but this does represent the joint collection of myself and Mrs Bookzombie.

Very broadly, most of the childrens’ fiction and romance books are Mrs B’s, while most of the SF and popular science is mine. ‘Golden Age’ detective fiction tends to be both (Agatha Christie, Dorothy L. Sayers, etc) but modern thrillers tend to be mine.

As I say, this is a very broad split and is not a definite rule as we do share quite a lot of interests in common.
Hi, Bookzombie,

Wow, what great taste you have! {grin} I only have about 80-90 books up so far, but of those you have 24... and some of the best ones, too.

It will be interesting to see what else you have; I anticipate some great finds.
Right, that's pretty much everything with an ISBN up; I may add some more stuff later. This is the combined household collection, by the way, not just mine!

Incidentally, for the full home catalogue I use bookcat (www.fnprg.com/bookcat). Highly recommended for the complete obsessive like myself who wants to record the short stories in your various anthologies, collections & magazines. And as a bonus the customer service is second to none.
Great screen name. Oh yeah, and I also enjoyed perusing your library.
