About meFor me, working at Barnes & Noble supports a habit like being an alcoholic working in a winery--which is about as expensive. My user name is Welsh for "raven-wing". I am half of a couple who have been collecting together since around '97 or '98. I am a some-time polymer clay artist, bookbinder, calligrapher, photographer, and novice student of medieval swordsmanship. I believe strongly in two statements made by Jacqueline Carey's D'Angeline characters: "All knowledge is worth having," and "Love as thou wilt."

About my libraryI am a major role-playing gamer (D&D, etc.), mythology buff, and student of medieval and ancient history. I have a definite habit of buying more than I will ever read--some books because I really would like to read them, and some because they might be handy to have around for browsing or referencing. This is why I love books of the "Complete Dictionary of..." variety. It's really nice to be able to do spontaneous research in my own living room.

The knitting books in my catalog and most of the classic SF are more my girlfriend's thing than my own, but I am into a number of other crafts and some of the Sci-Fi. Also, I'm really not sure how we've ended up with so many cookbooks, as we rarely cook.

I use tags prefixed with asterisks to describe something regarding the physical qualities of a book, such as "*signed" or "*do not own", and tags prefixed with @ to indicate the location of books in storage. The tag "wish" is so I can tell what's only in my Wishlist when I'm using LT Mobile.
