About meThe Brookline Bindery is a full service bookbinding workshop specializing in fine hand bookbinding, restoration, conservation, and the construction of book boxes and other protective enclosures. We also collect and sell books.

About my libraryWhile our library holds a large number of books which cover a diverse range of topics, we have several more specialized collections. We have and extensive collection of reference books and journals about bookbinding, restoration and conservation, as well as books about book collecting, collectors, the book trade, history of the book, and book related fiction. In addition, we have a large collection of books about art history, artists, art restoration, painting techniques, illumination, symbolism, iconography, as well as art theft, forgery, and art related mysteries. We have an large collection of books about medieval history, early civilization, social development and local traditions and culture. These collections are primarily focused on England, France and Italy. They also include early American exploration, settlements and history, as well early New England, puritanism and the church. We are gradually cataloging our collections when we have the time.
