Hello Rosie,

I'm so glad that you joined the group! I think you'll like it. We also
mooch our duplicates within the group...it's a fun way to add
to your collection.

When I first joined LT last year, I had 37 Viragos thinking that was alot.
Now, I have 163! It's a fever I say!! One of the other members, christiguc,
just posted the original VMCs numbered list for reference and swooning.

It's always great meeting someone else who loves Julia Margaret Cameron!
Her pale and melancholy ladies speak so much to me. As for Miss Carrington,
years ago, in the midst of my 'surrealist' studies, I was drawn to the women
artists and found her work just plain cool. I believe she's still alive.

Looking forward to seeing you in the VMC group!!

Kind regards,
Cate
Hi Rosie - just a quick one: I'm going away for a few days so won't be able to scan that PW volume until the end of the month. Sorry about that. Proper reply to your post then too!

After noticing that Louise Gluck, Richard Aldington and _Frasier_ all feature in your library, I had to say hello :)
Almost forgot: R S: brilliant. I keep trying him on my students, with little success!

Hi Rosie, nice to hear from you. I'm sort-of Shropshire too - moved to near Market Drayton from Ireland when young, went to Bangor Uni (hence Welsh Writing in English interest), now marooned in Wolves! If you let me know which Poetry Wales you need, I'll scan it and send it as a PDF.
There's loads of Shropshire/Wales cultural interchange - Margiad Evans for one. My PhD was on constructions of masculinity in 1930s political Welsh novels: Lewis Jones, Gwyn Thomas and Richard Llewellyn. Lynette Roberts is one of those I've meant to get round to reading, but then, there's so much…

Hello. Great collection - rather more poetry than mine. I see we're the only ones to share some editions of Poetry Wales, but you don't list many Welsh poets. Was there something specific in those volumes that you sought them out, or is it one of those random acquisitions?
Aidan
I finally came online again after weeks staying away and found your comment about Lynette Roberts. I must say that I'm delighted to find that anyone else reads her apart from me and the 3 other people I already knew about! Fun blog by the way...
