About me“When I have a little money, I buy books. If any is left over, I buy food and clothes.” (Erasmus)
This sums up exactly how I live and how I feel about books. It amazes me that a man born over 500 years ago, when the world was so different as to be unrecognizable, shared the same feelings I have about reading and books. To some of us the ideas, thoughts and experiences we get from books are more important than food, or clothes.
About my libraryI enjoy fiction and non-fiction alike. Although, I do spend more time on fiction overall.
I love:
science fiction, fantasy (more alternate universe/worlds than elves and such), 18th-19th century classics, mysteries, biographies (mainly of authors or monarchs), non-fiction history (Ancient Egypt, England, Europe, the Americas, Asia), travelogues (very old ones can be especially fun), children's books (I love searching out old, new or forgotten gems to share with the children in my life.) ....
There is so much more I can't think of it all, but this is a good start.
Charm me with an interesting character. Flatter me with excellent writing. Bedazzle me with a tale never told before or told in a new way and I am yours.
That being said, I am not above a little literary mind candy once in awhile. ;*)
