GroupsWhat Are You Reading Now?

About me I grew up with books and parents who loved to read...to themselves and to us. We had one of those "Hey, listen to this..." kind of homes. Now that I've retired I intend to read as many books as I can, parting only with books which interest me not one whit.

About my library We've always had books--lots of them--but when a friend died, a friend who had the largest personal library of anyone I know, his books came to me. Now we have books in every room except the bathrooms and kitchen but they're organized only in small sections. Now with retirement the fun begins.

I've had Hawk of Egypt for years - can't remember where I got it. It's totally implausible, of course, but is a guilty pleasure. And newly interesting in light of current attitudes toward the Arab world.

I'm rather surprised it was considered a wholesome book for children. Awful lot of heavy breathing in it. I always feel I should be eating bon bons as I read it, with my hair up in pincurls.
