About meMy gili usdi Opal (pictured) has grown frustrated with the overflow of books. As you can see in the background, there are even books on her kibble containers! Opal insisted I start cataloguing, organizing, and shelving my books to make way for her to run freely through the house with her plush squirrels. And when Opal puts her paw down, she will not tolerate resistance.
Me, I'm a joint degree PhD Anthropology/JD Law student with interests in tribal sovereignty, federal Indian law, and all the interactions of gender, race, and the law, but I can't seem to keep from reading other areas in my fields, either. Mmm, international law...linguistics...human ecology...dog training...non-cutesy dog books...
I'm the human companion of two dogs.
I just started cataloguing my books in the midst of finals, Dec. 07.
About my libraryOnce a book is in my possession the parting is too hard. Donating books, recycling books, selling books are painful--what if I want to read them again? Check a reference? Show the person who gave it to me that I appreciated it enough to keep it around (even if I never read it)? I never know when that Invertebrate Biology book from my junior year in college might be useful again. Or that Trixie Belden book I read when I was a kid. Or the books on vegan cooking a certain family member gives me every winter. So I'm inundated, and I love it.
