- About My Library
- The top shelf is Victorian doorstops: Dickens, Trollope, Balzac, Zola -- the latter two in French. Lots of English novels, especially inter-war fiction. Escape fiction shelved separately: classic murder mysteries, thrillers, romantic suspense, Joanna Trollope. It has to be literate. I love Edmund Crispin, Lee Child, Susan Hill. I'm reading a lot on my Kindle and my phone, too. Very practical but lacks atmosphere and has no decorative function whatsoever.
- About Me
- I'm an author as well as a voracious reader. Currently I'm writing historical fiction with a novel called "Leaving Van Gogh" coming out from Spiegel & Grau in hardcover in April 2011. I read mostly fiction, and 35-40% murder mysteries depending on how much escapism I need! I'm a big New York Review Books fan and I love Persephone books as well. I blog on wordpress, see below: the blog is called "Book Group of One" because I'm pretty fond of my own opinions!
