Sorry, just saw your comment now. Not quite sure what to recommend beyond what's already in the Lonely Planet guide. That said, I wouldn't set too much store by the Lonely Planet's info on getting something to eat.
If you're going to Havana and someone offers to show you around, it can be well worth it, but you should agree a price beforehand. The Museum of Colonial Art and the Revolution Museum are both worth a visit.
