About me30 year old librarian. Most days I wish I was my cat.

About my libraryThings I read: fantasy, science fiction, weird/new weird, steampunk, horror, young adult, graphic novels/manga, anything with superheroes, poetry, historical NON-fiction, mythology/folklore, books on paganism/neopaganism/wicca/witchcraft, LGBT fiction and non-fiction, art/art history books and books on writing

Things I might-possibly-be-enticed-to-read-but-not-too-often: historical fiction, literary fiction, classics, philosophy, popular science, biographies*(I will read any biography on Marilyn Monroe or Marie Antoinette, apart from those I'm actually kind of hard sell on these.) I will very rarely read a thriller, but it's been known to happen.

Things I straight-up DO NOT READ **this is not a judgement call on those who do read these things, they simply don't float my boat**: mystery (except for the Sherlock Holmes stories), police procedurals, true crime, heterosexual romance (I'm not straight), Christian fiction (I'm not Christian), westerns (with the exception of Gemma Files' amazing horror/new weird/gay western "Hexslingers" series or something else of that kind.)

I borrow a lot of books from the public library, I also give a lot of books away when I am finished with them, so I like the LT feature that lets you divide books between "owned" and "read but unowned" collections - my books frequently flip between these categories!

A note about my "ratings". . . when I rate a book out of five stars on librarything I don't rate it based on how technically "good" a book is and I don't rate based on how I think the world or history should view the book. I only give a star rating based on my own personal enjoyment level the last time I read it.
