About meI am happily married and the mother of three (boy/girl twins and another daughter). I work full time and love to cook. I am an avid reader and am constantly adding books to my collection. I try to read each day and all of my children enjoy reading. In fact, my oldest child wants to be an English professor.
I also participate in Harper Collins First Look (have yet to be selected), Goodreads and Barnes & Noble First Look.
About my libraryMy on-line catalogue of books only includes the ones that I own and have read over the past several years. Although I have been reading longer than that, I had taken a 'hiatus' from anything to do with 'just me' when my kids were small and was not able to do much reading.
I constantly have a to be read pile - usually over 25+.
After purchasing the same book on multiple occasions, I started to catalogue my books on my palm pilot. Since then I have added the LibraryThing catalogue and a catalogue on Barnes and Noble. Now, I just need to make sure I keep them in sync.
I like my books to be kept in good condition. I have only loaned them to family members and when I do, I give them a book mark and ask them to use it. I also ask that they do not eat food while reading the book. Yes, I know this is a little off the deep end but what can I say? Books are one of the few things I enjoy and collect.
My husband has a large collection of books - mostly science fiction. We plan to have a library in our retirement home. Many years to go but it is a plan.

Thank you for the welcome! I just checked this out after reading the post on B&N First Look, but found that I was up the whole night going through this website, the book contests and blogs with free ARCs. Though since this is my third day of looking at them, I'm a bit overwhelmed. Also just realized what they meant about having a backlog to read (as well as a regular job). I suddenly thought - what if I actually win the 20 books I signed up for in all these contests!!
Though I think it's really cool how you won the LT ER off the bat! Gives me hope to hear it. :)
I'm a lawyer - I'd left my law firm and have been trying to start my own practice but often find myself with too much time on my hands.
Thanks again for the welcome - makes a difference!
