Hey Tae, if you want, when I return the hardcover Sookie (HOLY CRAP it was good), I can loan you Whiskey Rebels if you like.
I'm at legal hearings between my district and my union regarding the lay-offs that we had. I need to check with Chad about this week- I'm getting let out at 5, which puts me home around 6 because of traffic. It needs to be a date where he won't miss me too much.
Hey girlie! I ordered the books just now, so they should get to you by Thursday. I know you bought the house, but in the meantime, you're still at the Pepper Oaks place, right?

Mmmm Mexican food... Maybe this week since I'm at the hearings or next week after work...
I caught the tension between them in the first book and thought, "No. Uh-uh. She wouldn't." ::sigh:: but she did! Then as I was reading the second book, I was thinking that Jamie is- under no circumstances- NOT allowed to read these books. Ever.
Oops, I didn't mean to blow off that comment! Yes, we should hang out and celebrate my getting older. :)

Sweet, I think I'll start on the Weather Warden series myself until book club decides next month (I saw you've already started on them) If you want to start on The Named or Witchling, I think that still leaves plenty of other options for them. I just wanted to make sure I didn't pick all stuff you've already read! You paranormal queen!
Okay, so I went ahead and started the Harper Connolly series by C. Harris. Now, I want to hold off on another series you may not have read. So which of these have you or have you not read? (So I can plan what I can read before book club!)
The Akhenaton Adventure by P.B. Kerr
Shakespeare's Landlord (I know it's not paranormal) by Charlaine Harris
The Trouble with Magic by Madelyn Alt
The Named by Marianne Curley
Witchling by Yasmine Galenorn
Raven's Shadow by Patricia Briggs
Dragon Bones by Patricia Briggs
For the Charlaine Harris ghost series, you asked for the second and the third books, not the first. Was that intentional? Those were going to be one of my potential choices for book club, so if you already read the first one, then I can start on them, if you meant to order the first one, hopefully I can change your order for you (but don't read them yet if so!). I put the order in this morning, I suddenly realized... crap! Book club is coming up and some reading needs to be getting done!
Wow. I am so lame, I was going to ask you about the book club book, but then I thought to myself that wouldn't make sense because you won't get the books until book club, so the book would be too late. Then I realized. Duh. They'd be shipped to you. Yikes. Clearly my brain has now gone to mush with age. ::sigh::
Alrighty... I just ordered the complete series for Women of the Otherworld and the Sisters of the Moon. I also have Charlaine Harris's ghost series to start. Since you've already started Women of the Otherworld, I don't need to hold off on those for book club- have you started Sisters of the Moon or C. Harris' ghosties? I was also thinking of the Real Vampires Have Curves series, Bitten series, Witchling series, The Named Series, Vegas Vampires series, the Garnet Lacey Series, 50 Ways to Hex Your Lover, Goddess of the Sea... lots of series I'm looking in to. Which ones have you not started yet? Then I can hold off on those!!! You're killin' me!

Oh... Merry Christmas! I cracked and ordered my March set early, I'll be celebrating on Friday!
Okay... I'm buying a few more series in paranormals... I don't want to start on the ones you haven't read yet, so what can I start reading? Have you read [[Charlaine Harris]]'s ghost series? How about [Sisters of the Moon]? [[Kelley Armstrong]]'s [Women of the Underworld]? If you've read some of those, what freakin' series should I hold off on for my book club picks? You're making my life difficult. :)! Ooh, did your books come? Did it feel like Christmas?
Yes, am I had to say that I think Fade was even better. I can not wait for Gone to come out.
thanks for the books
Wahoo! I'm working on some books for my standard 999, but I think I'm going to move on to some paranormals next. All of my categories are likely to change as the year goes on- I'm not sure if that counts as cheating or not!
I wish that I didn't have other things to do- like work, house stuff, and sleep. ::sigh:: I could get so much more reading done! We pay $79 a year on Amazon to have unlimited 2 day shipping. It's awesome and we have more than made it worth the money. About 90% of my books I buy from them, so it's a beautiful, beautiful thing. We usually do almost all birthday and Christmas gifts from there, too. Man, I'm promoting them so hard, I should be getting a cut!
I don't know. I may not even email you anymore. What happens if I only speak to you on LT? Just kidding. By the way, I know you love the Aisling Grey books- you HAVE to read her "Dark Ones" series, they are so great AND they are a little steamier! I just found a new paranormal series I am in love with (I have read and reread all of the books in the series so far in less than a week. Obsession much?). Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse series- but you have to start at the beginning. I didn't and it almost ruined everything. Not really, but going in order really helps. WAIT A MINUTE... I was being nosy and saw that someone else started talking to you about Sookie Stackhouse... are you already hooked on her?!?!?!?! Is there someone who shares this sick adoration I have for the series? I'm in withdrawal over here. Um... this is long, so I'm going to go now.
I didn't realize that Wicked Lovely was first, so I read Ink Exchange first. I looked up the authors website and it reads that the wicked lovely is about the same information, but it is not actually considered a sequel so I think I will go ahead and try to read it also.

I didn't not get into the LA Banks books very well either, if you notice they do not have very high ranking in my library. I just picked up a whole bunch of books yesterday from the library, so I will be on a roll for the next week trying to get through them.
I really liked the Weather Warden's first book Ill Wind I just finished it earlier this week. I have bought the first of the dark days series, (just came out this month) by Jocelynn Drake it is called Nightwalker. I have not read it yet I have others I have to finish first. I finished Ink Exchange today, it is by Melissa Marr. If you can make it past the first couple chapters it is a really good book, just had a lot of character and it is about the Fae World so different courts and such.

Have you read the Succubus books?

1: Succubus Blue
2: Succubus on Top

I have only read the first one, but I really liked it.

I also read a short story in one of the book with story stories by several writers. It was by Patricia Briggs, and she came out with a book that continues the story. It is called Cry Wolf. I have heard that others like it quite a bit. I still need to read it.

Hope this helps some I will look into the Sookie Stackhouse books.
Sookie Stackhouse, what kind of books are these. I have not heard of them before. I love hearing about new books to try.
I saw another comment that you had left on the Jeaniene Frost series Night Huntress books. I loved them........... They are awesome. I can not wait for the new book in December.
Yeah, I'm the same way!

I like Lilith Saintcrow - her Dante Valentine stuff was fun and I've just started reading her new series about Jill Kismet, which is good so far. (Only one book.) You should check out Kelley Armstrong - she's got a bunch of different series out now but her Women of the Otherworld stuff is great and there's 8 books out already. The first one's called "Bitten". Let me know what you think! :)
Thanks for the tip. I've actually read them both and really enjoyed them. :)

What do you think of the Colleen Gleason books? I've been thinking about picking them up but don't know anyone who's read them so I'd love to hear what you liked or didn't like about them.
Our picture is up!
Happy ENGAGEMENT!!!! You should update this photo to show you showing off your ring. Maybe Matt could be in the picture, too. Maybe. :)
hey mama! how do i find out group page where we discuss things. I was telling amy, i looked on my page and couldn't find blindness on the list and realized my happy a$$ is supporsed to add it in myself. what a goof.
Those boogers! How dare they deprive you of your brain candy! Yeah... poor Gregor. The guy really gets his world messed with. Hard thing to be an innocent!
Haha! How many did you end up with? I just finished the most recent in the Queen Betsy. ::sigh:: I love a good paranormal. They are so ridiculously wonderful. Happy reading!
It's odd that they're found in the romance section when there isn't that much of "romance" (wink, wink) in them. I guess because they don't really fit into any other category, though why they aren't in sci fi/fantasy (hello, paranormal) or general fiction is beyond me. They both have other novels that are more romance-y, so maybe that's why. Eh.

They're good though, huh? I'm glad you liked them. I'm reading the latest in the Queen Betsy series, but I can't wait for the next Aisling Grey. I've read a couple of easy books like these this weekend. They're my brain treats!
I can't remember which ones you bought, but I checked my library list (I write the number in the series for each book in here) to make sure we got you the first in the two series I wanted you to try out.

For Katie MacAlister- You Slay Me is the first in the Aisling Grey series. For MaryJanice Davidson- Undead & Unwed is the first in the Queen Betsy series.

Happy reading!
Look at me! I logged on. Yay!!! There are too many things to log onto these days. How are you mama mia? how's the book?
Happy hour sounds good - how about Wednesday? I have a meeting at 3:40, but I could probably be downtown by 5:30. We have book club on Friday!!
How funny you should mention that particular Carl Hiaasen book, I just finished [Stormy Weather] which has the ex-govenor of Florida. It was hilarious. I highly recommend you finish it... but not until after Crossed! I'll kick your butt if you don't have it read by next week. I've also read the one with the husband pushing his wife over, but I forget which one that was. I love his books! Always good.

Have you read any of Katie MacAlister, MaryJanice Davidson, Michelle Rowan, Stephanie Rowe, or Kimberly Raye? They're great. Katie Mac and MJD are two of my favorite authors. They aren't too serious, not too graphic, but completely hilarious.
Um... I'm waiting for my last book in my current series to arrive (today) so that I can read it (today or tomorrow) and then I'll start Crossed. That's right. Then I'll s.t.a.r.t it! :) What series has you hooked?
I added a whole bunch of topics to our group's page. We had talked about having a place for on-going discussions about books we've read so we can add later comments or thoughts on previous selections, or get the discussion on our current book started early. I made a topic/discussion for each book. Right now it only shows the title, author, book club member and month/year it was picked. I may go back and do a brief summary of the book (or feel free to do so yourself!). Wasn't sure how much we wanted for posterity's sake. Where we met? Who was in the club at that time? You have the option of having our topics desccended by date a comment was added or clicking on a selection that shows you all unread messages. This way if we're bored and playing on the computer, we can see if there are any new comments easily. Maybe we'll use them. Maybe we won't. But the option's there!
Methinks you and I should schedule a "hang-out" date. Whaddya think?
Oh, why stop there? I have a book with a "borrowed from Jamie tag", had one that said "on loan to Jamie" (she gave it back). You can totally keep track of where your books are! I freakin' love this site!!!
I'd add it since I like to keep track of books I've read in case I'm curious as to what I may want to buy. Maybe have a tag that says "Donated" or something so you can keep track of what you've read versus what you still own. I have a whole bunch on mine that say "Buy", so even though I don't own them *yet*, it still shows them in my library. Besides, this way I can direct my family here when it's time to shop for presents- it's always updated.
I've done that before... and felt really stupid! Um... maybe I've done it on more than one occasion. Maybe. :)
Hey you! Can you (or someone) invite me to join the Readers and Eaters group? I can't figure out how to add myself...

Thanks! I missed you guys this month!
Jiminy crickets! Bout time you got on here again! I've been awaiting your friend approval for quite some time now! Anyways... heyhowareya?
