Hey - No, I've never read Lessing, but as someone who likes Sobin I'm inclined to trust you. I didn't know him well, my great-uncle, but I remember he was a funny man, who never let anyone get away with an ugly turn of phrase. A rare kind of person these days, I think.

Thanks for writing me back - I'll give Lessing a try.

Alyssa
Hey - you're one of only four people (me included) that owns a copy of Gustaf Sobin's book of poems Towards The Blanched Alphabets. He was my great-uncle, and I'm always hard-pressed to find anyone who's even heard of him! Have you read the poems? I'd love to know what you think. No problem if you haven't - just thought I'd say hi to a fellow obscure poetry-lover.
Absolutely agreed.
No, somehow I missed that one! I will have to grab it...
Hey, we're also the only two on here with Code Poems, which is one of my favorite books evah. What is wrong with people that they don't have that book?
I like Giroux, but I remember that when I bought the book I also bought a copy of Andrew Crozier's collected, by the same publisher (Allardyce Barnett) which I enjoyed a lot more. I don't think it would really appeal to most readers, but it fits my particular idiosyncrasies. Crozier was a friend of Carl Rakosi's. I mention it because I think Allardyce-Barnett books usually go for the same general type of sentiment, so if you liked Giroux, perhaps you'll see something to like with Crozier. (They also did a book of Veronica Forrest-Thompson that I didn't really get).
Howdy. What excellent books we have in common. We are the only two people on here with David's book, though. That's no good.
