About meI am 23 years old and a medical student at the University of Illinois at Chicago (an M2). I am also in the Army. I graduated from St. Olaf College, and am interested in Christianity, politics, and history. I am also a philisophical Liberal (in the classical sense of the word).

About my libraryMy library consists mainly of Folio Society, Limited Editions Club, and Gryphon Editions books, but I also have quite a few books on Christian theology as well. I am having trouble finding a collecting niche, and that problem has caused my library to swell to a wife-infuriating level.

The Arion Press edition of Waste Land is wonderful. It sold out very quickly and I got one of the last copies. I really like the format of the book and the way they fragmented Kitaj's painting and placed it with various portions of the poems. I really like the press and have visited them a few times in the last year or so. I'm really looking forward to their upcoming edition of Grossman's translation of Don Quixote.
Thanks anyway.
I saw your books over in the Macy group. Do you still have the Education of Henry Adams available? If so how much do you want for it and would you consider mailing? I would take care of the postage of course. Happy Monday.
Books have arrived safe and sound. Thank you. ;-)
I suppose you've seen the LEC [Ulysses] listed on eBay. Too bad the equity in my home is tapped out--or maybe it's just as well!
That's fine. I've been in St. Paul and won't be home until tomorrow any way.
The part of my library shown on my profile picture is in a second floor "loft" area above the living room. The room is about 5' by 14' and when we looked at the house I immediately thought "library". We had all the cabinetry put in, custom designed by a local woodworker. It's the primary library in the house (600+ books) but I do have other areas where I have books.
Yes, it has taken me several years to get around to do all the cataloguing.
Nice little library.
I'm still working on organizing my library so I don't have any pictures as yet--hopefully soon. I do have several duplicate Limited Editions Club volumes that I picked up in auctions, when I bought a lot of several just to get one or two that I wanted. Since you are interested in replacing some of your Heritage Press editions, I wonder if you would be interested in purchasing any of these duplicates? I'm not a dealer, and don't really need to make a profit on them, so if you are interested, I'll make up a list with an accurate description of the condition of each volume and a price.

If you aren't interested, that's OK, too, and I wish you good luck in your search, but as a word of advice, don't get rid of all the Heritage Press editions just yet--some of them are actually more interesting in their design than the corresponding LEC volume (I'm thinking in particular of The Aeneid and the older Heritage edition of Penguin Island, with their blind-stamped covers, and the 2 volume Herodotus, which is more beautifully designed and easier to read than the one volume LEC version.)
