About meI have been in the coin business for over 25 years. I am called a "Professional Numismatist". I trade in all types of money from ancient times to modern. I am President of Chicago Coin Company, Inc. My hobbies include collecting books and auction catalogs relating to numismatics. I also collect Chinese Scholars' items, but that is another story.
About my libraryThe "William A. Burd Numismatic Library" was started in the mid 1980s. Over the years it has evolved into a substantial numismatic library. It consists mainly of material relating to money - ancient coins, primitive money, coins of all countries, currency, banking, medals, tokens, etc. The library is on loan to Chicago Coin Company, Inc. at 6455 W. Archer Ave., Chicago, Illinois. It is not open to the public. However, a serious researcher or person interested in finding out about a particular item or book can visit the store. Our friendly staff will help with any request. No books can be removed from the location and for security reasons only employees can enter the library.
