About meI am a public services librarian at the Capital Area District Library in Lansing. My fiction reading mostly consists of literary fiction, speculative fiction, historical fiction, and graphic novels, in roughly that order. I've also started reading a lot of queer and radical social history recently. I read thematically: if I'm interested in learning about female foreign correspondents in the early 20th century, that's all I'll read about for a few months. Regardless of my current interests, if you give me queer historical fiction I'll stay up all night to finish it.

About my libraryI use LibraryThing to keep tabs on what I've read, not what I own. Because I recommend (rather than review) books for work, my reviews here are overwhelmingly positive: they're intended to encourage people to find books that interest them, not to engage in a critical conversation. Most of them are posted on CADL's website

Hi Sara,

Alas, I'm not a librarian, nor do I live in Haslett (anymore) - It's been about five years since I left the Lansing area, and I really miss it. There is a sad dearth of good bookstores up here, so I spend a lot of time perusing librarything and amazon scouting out used books. The majority of my books are in storage and I miss them dearly. I may be moving soon, and the thought of being reunited with my books makes me giddy. :)

I hope you don't mind me asking - where did you go to library school? I've thought about going back to school for librarianship (not sure if that's the right word). We'll see what happens.

Thanks for popping in. It's always nice to talk to a fellow booklover with similar tastes!
