Noticed you liked As I Lay Dying, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also southern and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Here's a link to a summary (and a sample chapter)in case you'd like to read more about the novel before you commit:

Greetings Sandy...

Thank you for your interest in our ‘hoi polloi’ publication. It represents our first charitable endeavor and you will note that it suggests a somewhat local flavor. Our Dog Days Press enterprise was initiated with a more local focus and it’s branching outward with each subsequent publication. This morning I mailed your copy of hoi polloi via USPS book rate. I hope it will be delivered in a reasonable time frame. The copy you will receive is a larger format workbook version of the publication. A more compact 6”x 9” version is available through online retailers such as and with the following ISBN-13: 978-0615177601
We have just produced our 2nd issue of hoi polloi with all proceeds to benefit The National MS Society and a 3rd publication is being assembled to benefit Cancer charities. Dog Days Press is also developing additional publication initiatives that will be launched in the near future.
In any regard, thanks again for your interest and I hope you enjoy the book.
Best regards,
Bob McNulty
Hi ciridan--I just joined club read and am slowly reading through people's threads. Just read yours, and saw that you lived in the New Orleans area. I lived there for 20 years, most of the time uptown, last three years in Lake Vista. We left in 1986. I've only been back once (pre-Katrina), but still have family living up in St. Francisville.

I'll be following your thread. It looks like you're reading some interesting books.
