About my libraryMy library consists of books mainly dealing with 19th century american history. I started off reading everything I could about the american civil war, the deeper I got into this subject the more I was led to books dealing with why the civil war happened, I am now concentrating on books about slavery and race relations during this time period(and earlier). I feel that it's impossible to fully understand much of early (and modern)American history without looking at how slavery shaped the American Republic.

Im Marie,Im 16 years old and Ive decided to read this Thomas Conelly's,"The Marble Man".Unfortunately I am having trouble understanding the author's view on Lee. Could you please summarize Conelly's points in each chapter? A quick summary of what he is trying to say in each chapter
FYI
I have uploaded a cover for A Long Shadow: Jefferson Davis and the Final Days of the Confederacy
by Michael B. Ballard. This is from the original 1986 University Press of Mississippi hardcover edition.
Wow your library is a "gold mine". I am noting it as one of my favorites. I recently started researching the USCT. In that pursuit I have been attending Civil War reenactments. It is like the war ended last Thursday down here in the south! Your library is a great reference. Are you a professor?
