About meI (obviously- I'm here) love to read. I'm married with 1 kid, we're all happy. I get my love of reading and books from my Mom. She read to me every
day, and still reads anything she can find. That's one of my reasons for starting this library- I never know what she or someone else has borrowed. Maybe now I can track down my faves when I want to re-read them. I knew I had a reading problem when I blew off a math exam in 8th grade in order to continue reading "Of Mice and Men." I walked into the classroom late with red puffy eyes and blubbered, "I'm sorry- I couldn't stop reading." Lucky for me, the teacher was a reader too, and took pity on me. She let me read the remainder of the book during class and let me make up the exam later. I really enjoy reading in my car. I know there are others out there- I'll go to a parking lot and find a shady spot to read, then look up a while later and see others bent over books resting on their steering wheels. I've thought about starting a parking lot discussion group, but don't know how to approach others without getting shot.

About my libraryMy friends and I trade around vampire novels galore. I was interested WAY before Twilight. My mom and I have read most of Nora Roberts' books, as well James Patterson and Janet Evanovich. I LOVE the Dragonriders Series by Anne (and now Todd) McCaffrey. I read some other fantasy, but need a cohesive story line to get sucked in. Classics, whodunnits and good ol' sappy romance are also fun. The only book I've been unable to finish is Wicked. Loved it live, can't get through the book, despite trying several times. Once upon a time, I collected children's books, but (long sad story)they are lost to me. Since my son came along, I've started collecting again and we read together every day. He has a thing for the "How does a Dinosaur" books. My scientist hubby doesn't read anything except textbooks and user manuals, so it's up to me to carry on the love of books and reading to the next generation.
