About meGreetings from the Reference Department at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh! We are a team of professional librarians who order circulating non-fiction for the Main Library in Oakland. Our account is a great way to find out what we've ordered that hasn't yet appeared in the catalog - think of it as a sneak preview: if you find a book here, you'll soon be able to request it.

About my libraryThe Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh is the premier public library system for the City of Pittsburgh. We also serve as the District Library Center for Allegheny County.

I thought you might want to know that I just uploaded the cover for "Abundance" in case you want to add it to your book listing.
I have uploaded a cover for Tarnished Victory: Finishing Lincoln's War by William Marvel.
Thank you so much for choosing my newest book, "The Complete Cat's Meow," for your collection. I'm honored. With money so scarce today I know that the choices are many and difficult.
Warmly,
Darlene Arden, CABC
I have uploaded a cover for Omar Bradley: General at War by Jim DeFelice.
What a great idea.
Thanks for your help!! Do the people in the Cookbook section have a Librarything account too?
Hi Leigh Ann,

Do you happen to be buying/ ordering 'Saving the Season' by Susanna Meyer? The one the Post Gazette covered last week??
Thanks for recommending my book, Swiss Watching. Glad you liked it!
Hi Leigh Ann,

I love the diversity of your non fiction selections. I'll certainly be adding some to my ever expanding "To Read" list. Keep up the fabulous work!

Kudos to your team for your selections. How I (and my wallet) wish that I lived close to your library (Amazon should seriously be sending you a commission). Thank-you so much for posting - I have enjoyed your selections tremendously.
Nice to meet you, Leigh Ann. I'm so excited to have found this!! What a great job you have! Do you select and purchase based on publishers info or do you end up reading advanced copies?
Thanks for your reply about Fundamentals of Creative Photography - all makes sense when one knows you are a library with pre-orders. Hope your readers like the book when it arrives - early copies should be here by May 2010.
I just added Doug Oster's new gardening book and saw you and I were the only ones who posted it- so I checked your hometown and , of course, it's Pittsburgh! I haven't found lots of people who use this website here, so I am reaching out to say hi and get acquainted (cyberwise of course!)
I'd love to know how you have a copy of Fundamentals of Creative Photography by David Präkel in your library as I'm the author and as of today I'm still working on page proofs!
Definitely interesting, I can't pull my eyes away
Hi there...

Judging by the books we share, I have to assume that
you too, belong to the Amazon vine program?
Six of the books we share are books I received from vine, and
the Fit at 50 one came to me to review from elsewhere...

I followed the link on the book page for The Kennedy Legacy: Jack, Bobby and Ted and a Family Dream Fulfilled, when I saw that only one other LTer had this book. I am about to start it now, I think?

Anyway, just a quick hello !

:)
