About meI'm a creative writing major at Lake Forest College...not because I believe I'll become a best-selling author, but because I know my life won't be complete unless I surround myself with books and writing. I love best-sellers, and I'm always looking to expand my horizons in terms of popular and classic fiction.

Other random facts: I work in the campus print shop during the school year and this summer, I'm spending my time volunteering at an animal shelter. I have a wonderful boyfriend who will be training to join the Marines at the end of September. God bless our troops, and God bless the books that will keep me distracted while he's away!

About my libraryLots of Stephen King and other popular fiction, not as many classics. Some books I've only read once (or not at all), but many I've read ten or more times. A good book is like a good friend - comforting, familiar, and always there in times of need!

(answer to the conversation we were having about Insomnia)

Have you read all Stephen King's books?
I feel bad Insomnia was the first book by him I tried to read. It kind of gave him a bad impression about his writing (that all of his books are endless and pointless).
I'm probably wrong since he's such a sucessful writer.
Any good recomendations for a second shot?
I didn't think Cell dragged any. There are those spots that are breaks between storms, but I thought the mystery of how The Pulse worked and who would do such a thing, not to mention how the phoners were changing... what would come next... kepts the slower-paced spots still forward-working. I got my copy from BookMooch, and now I've read it, and it's such a page turner the spine's still not cracked. I've never had a book like that.

Anyway, here's my review if you want to read it. http://thekoolaidmom.wordpress.com/2008/...
Something Wickend This Way Comes is one of my favorite books. I've read it two or three times, and the last time was with my fifteen-year-old. It was her favorite book until we read To Kill a Mockingbird, which has now been replaced by The Outsiders as her favorite. Have you got to the part where the witch is in the hot air balloon looking for them? That scared the pants off me!

BTW, I'm 97 pages into Lisey's Story by Stephen King. It's different, in a way, from his usual stuff, but it is still very King. It's a love story, of sorts... which I think is a first for him (unless you count Misery, a love story of an entirely different nature.) It's got the mystery, and the monster, of his normal work... it's captivating and sweet, in a King-ish way. I like it a lot, so far.
Okay... But most of the books we read for school I didn't actually read. Is that a problem? haha. And I put a different Harry Potter than you, probably. And probably a different Sisterhood. I didn't feel like finding each individual one. maybe I will later.
Is it funny that the only book we share is Crime and Punishment? Or is that just scary?
Well, Mike calls me Snord, if that's better.
