About mePlease not that this profile is under construction! I am still working though all of my bookshelves, and at this point have yet to hit the halfway mark. So many books, so much distraction! Ah yes, and because of a computer flub on my part, most of my books are incorrectly categorized. I hope to have that straightened out very soon.
Now that the warnings are out of the way, on to more important things.
The name's Marie, and I am a female, full-time law student living and working on San Jose, California. I have a BS in Honors English Literature and a strong background in the medical sciences, particularly chemistry and laboratory techniques.
I am a voracious reader, and even discounting my school reading I manage at least fifty or so books a year, with an average of four- to five-hundred pages. Last year I believe I managed a few past 70 books total with a 375-page average. This year will not be quite so many, on account of heavy classwork and casework, but I hope to finish another 15 books or so by New Years.
My reading style, like my collection itself, leans towards eclectic. I have "moods" with my reading - first a few weeks of biographies, then I might be in the mood for classical fiction, then perhaps even a jaunt into my absolute favorites, the Jane Austen continuations and sequels.
I wrote my 100+ page collegiate senior thesis on Pride and Prejudice adaptions, and admit to something of a addiction. Both good and bad, I'll read them all just as fast as they come out.
I also have a noted fondness for specific-histories, with a particular interest in the histories of specific food products. But really, there's nothing I will refuse to read - even fantasy and romance will pique my interest once in a while. I especially love recommendations!
About my libraryEclectic! I read a wide variety of books, from novels to non-fiction, and always have strong opinion about what I've read. One can appreciate Herman Melville one night and enjoy a trashy romance novel the next - I see no obvious contradiction.

Probably the only way to find out who won what is based on what people self report in the Early Reviewers Group since there's usually a thread posted for "what books did you win" for each month's batch. Not everybody self-reports though, so it's not totally accurate.
Anyway, hope your second Early Reviewer book is better than the first. Mine wasn't too bad, though as you've probably seen me complaining on LJ, the Member Giveaway book I'm currently reading is headdeskingly godawful.
