I have a passion for historical house restoration and once, when I was eight years old, I soaked a loaf of bread in water and ate it after reading the description in Train's Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. About my libraryI am building this library slowly out of the materials of the books I read for pleasure and work. I am very much looking forward to perusing your full library when you have it entered. I truly enjoyed 'En Travesti' and am interested to see what sort of opera, music and history related books you have on your shelves. I'm certain there will be many volumes that I've never heard of but absolutely must read!
I've been listening to Bartoli's latest 'Sacrificium', Diana Damrau's 'Coloraturas' and Joyce DiDonato's 'Colbran, the Muse'-all very enjoyable records.
If you haven't already encountered the libraries of LolaWalser and lilithcat, I highly recommend seeking them out. Both of these members are very savvy opera lovers and thoughtful readers.
Welcome to LT! I look forward to seeing you around.

Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia
once talked about a contest
he was asked to judge.
The purpose of the contest
was to find the most caring child.
The winner was a four year old child
whose next door neighbor
was an elderly gentleman
who had recently lost his wife.
Upon seeing the man cry,
the little boy went into the old gentleman’s yard,
climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.
When his mother asked him
what he had said to the neighbor,
the little boy said,
"Nothing, I just helped him cry."
