About my library This is a list of books I've read, not of books I own. I do not own very many books because I don't really see the point. You can get them for free at the library and if you have more than a few they are heavy and a pain to move if you decide you want to live somewhere else. I am in library school and I work in a library, and in some ways I feel like this explains why I don't feel the need to own books, but in other ways I feel like those facts should make me want to own books and celebrate the sacredness of the printed text or whatever. But I don't want to. I would rather be able to leave town in a hurry, if you know what I mean.

i admire your not owning books stance. you're right. it doesn't make sense. my catalog is only of books i've read too, but i own WAY too many books. i'm not sure why. honestly, it's probably because i want to look smart when people come over. when i move in july, i'm going to give ALL of my books away. except for the very few sentimental ones that i got as gifts from my grandfather, etc. there's no need to own books, really.

we have the weatherman by clint mccown in common. it's only us and one other person! i just wanted to see what you thought of it. he is my professor for fiction writing, and i was really impressed by his novel. it had a great pace and i loved his ideas about the subjectivity of history.

You totally know who this is.
We only have one book in common.
