About meI am married with two beautiful teenagers. I love to read books and am always looking for new authors and genres to try. When a book is being made into a movie I have a rule that I must read the book before seeing the movie. Sometimes I do see a movie that is based on a book without reading the book first. When that happens I usually can't read the book.

About my libraryWell my library is a mixture of many different types or genres of books. I am really trying to figure out exactly what those genres are.

Here is my blog:

Hi I am a fellow Presidents Challenge member and on this day I was looking at fellow profiles and I saw you liked to try new authors. I would like to recommend John Lescroart. He is a lawyer type novels with a main character Dismas Hardy with a policeman friend as a sidekick. I like his writing style and he has some humor with seriousness. Hope youll try him..Chris

Monica, I saw your comment about Cold Mountain on BJ's thread and just want to add my recommendation for Cold Mountain. I loved Cold Mountain, and though I loved the movie as well (one of my all-time favorites), I think you should read the book first as all the actors were so good in the movie that they have taken over the characters I had in my mind as I was reading. Happy reading! Bonnie
Hey, thanks for letting me know about your forum. :) I'll check it once I'm at work; I have more time then.
Yes, I love paranormal books! Right now, I'm kinda working on my Paranormal 999 Challenge ( http://www.librarything.com/groups/paran... ), which I doubt I'll be able to finish, but it's worth a shot.

I've only read the first two books in the Twilight series, but I'm always on the look-out for the others. I can't wait to watch the movie. (Yes, I was too cheap to watch it in the theaters, so I'm patron #29,059,381 to put it on hold at the library. :D ) Have you seen it?
It was great! He has such a great personal story. His wife, Christie, is also wonderful. They were a couple that you could really look up to and respect. After I came home from Tahiti, Roy sent me (and my sister-in-law who went with me) a copy of the book. I have read bits and pieces and it's good. I really need to devote some time to reading the entire thing!
I noticed that you have the book [Truth- Not Exactly] by Roy Mills. You and I are the only two on LT to have this book! I met Roy on a cruise in Tahiti. I was curious if you've met him as well since he also lives in PA.
Hi Monica..

I saw on one of the threads that you are trying to develop a list of Dewey Decimal categories. Here is a link you can use: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Dew.... I just blocked and copied and pasted into an Excel spreadsheet to keep my actual list. In fact, if you're good with Excel, I'd suggest making a separate worksheet for each 100 level (100,200, 300, etc) so you can avoid having to scroll thru 1000 entries. Hope this helps.

PS I just noticed that 4 of your last 6 are books I love. I may have to break down and buy a new BC Cookie book....mine is so full of stains from baking cookies over the past 35 years I can hardly see the pages. No trouble finding my favorite recipes! I'm going to request you for a friend...we have a lot in common
Hi, Monica!
Welcome to the US Presidents Challenge.
If you have any questions, suggestions or insights, please be sure to post them on the General thread so everybody can see them.
We are also trying to track our group progress, so we have a thread for tickers or just lists of what books/presidents we each complete.

We're really glad you joined us and happy reading!

Cheli
Hi, Monica,
I did not know how to do a link to the US Presidents challenge, but I think that if you go to my profile page, you can find it on the list of groups that I joined. Then if you click on that group it works as a link. Also, you could search for the profile page of cyderry to get more info. It took me a while to figure out how to get you a link. Sorry that I am so bad with computers. Have a great day!
