About meI am a married 31 year old mother of 3 girls, ages 12, 3 and a newborn. I stay home during the week and work during the weekends. We live in Colorado and have family all over. I love to read in the little spare time a mother gets here and there. What do I do for recreation? Hmm.....not sure the last time that happened. :) I do love to go to the movies and spend time with family.

About my libraryMy interests vary depending on my mood. Typically I read paranormal novels whether they be romance, fantasy, mystery, crime, etc. I go thru phases where I like to read involved books and then I will go thru a streak of light and humorous for awhile. I also search for books pertaining to research topics I am currently needing in my family life. (I know, boring topics unless you are in the same boat at the exact moment-Potty training, cooking ideas, efficent mommy management stuff :) So my library can be a bit of a shmorgasboard. I welcome recommendations as I am always searching for new material.

Hmmm, I just finished the 3rd book in the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews - "Magic Strikes". It was wonderful!

Also finished "Turn Coat," number 11 in The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher - it is an awesome series, and very highly recommended.

What are you thinking of "White Witch, Black Curse" so far?

I shall try to think of more for you. I'm loving Kari Arthur's Riley Jenson series. So good!

Glad the baby is healthy! That is always a plus. Cheers!
Hi, Proud to join with you!!!!
Oooo, you had the baby! Congrats!
Lol...nice to meet another TrueBlood junkie and I can't wait for next season either! This summer! Woot. Favorites..do all of them count? Ahhh.. just saw you've read Maria V. Snyder's Magic series...love that. Hmm...can't think of anything as juicy as Laurell K. Hamilton ,or Charlaine Harris...ahhh you've ready Mary Janice Davidson's Queen Betsy series too...if you haven't read her Fred the Mermaid series...that's definitely worth the read, but most of her books are. Erin McCarthy also has some fantastic books...I love her Vegas Vamps series!! And she has a demon series out as well now. I just finished Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series..I lied..that is definitely as juicy as Laurell and Charlaine's books. Another good read is Clive Barker's Abarat series....very weird and intersting..I love it...also, by Steve Augarde, The Various and Celandine..those books are sooooo good. Like save them for when you have kids to read to at night good!! If you like Harry Potter, you'll definitely love them. And Terry Pratchett's The Adventures of Tiffany Aching series is great too!!! It starts out with The Wee Free Men. I love the title and the cover! I saw that you read Patricia Briggs Cry Wolf..I've read Mercy's series (The new one Bone Crossed was pretty good!!!), but haven't read that series..how'd you like it?
Hello! How are you? I'm loving your library...so great to finally be able to meet a ton of people with similar interests!! Do you watch Truebloods on HBO?
"There is no difficulty that enough love will not conquer; no disease that enough love will not heal; no door that enough love will not open; no gulf that enough love will not bridge; no wall that enough love will not throw down; no sin that enough love will not redeem. It makes no difference how deeply seated the trouble, how hopeless the outlook, how muddled the tangle, how great realization of love will dissolve it all. If only you could love enough you would be the happiest and most powerful being in the world."

Woo hoo! We both snagged an ER book! I'll send you mine if you send me yours. ;) When we finish them of course.
OMG! I finally got my playlist on my profile! Come see it!

Oh yes, time does seem to fly - my Squeaker just turned 2! I can't believe it. Now she can almost form completely comprehensible sentences! *Grins*

Ah yes, proper brain function goooood. I am a fan.

Have a great Halloween!

Cheers!
Oh, I'm just over halfway through Full Moon Rising and I am really enjoying this one! I was worried because it's in the Romance category and I was afraid it would center around the Romance bit *CoughLaurellKHamiltonCough* but this is a wonderful book! I'm so glad I gave it a try! Thank you thank you!

So, what are we planning for Halloween? My little girl is going as Little Red Riding Hood. *Tear* She's growing up so fast!

Hope you are all doing well!

Cheers!
Unfortunately I haven't actually gotten a chance to watch True Blood since Episode 1!!! They are all DVR'd, so eventually I keep saying I will sit down and watch 'em.

I haven't started Keri Arthur yet, but I think she will be next. I'm about halfway through Magic Burns right now, which is really good! Ahh, so many books... So little time.

Cheers!
Oh, and Magic Strikes by Ilona Andrews - I've got the cover for that one too! Eeee! Finding new covers makes me feel like a kid at Christmas! LOL.
Ooo, I see you are enjoying the Kitty Norville series! Wonderful!

I don't know if you've seen the cover for book 6 - I have it in my library (Kitty Raises Hell). It looks marvellous! 2 books in the span of a month from Carrie Vaughn! Can't wait!!!

Cheers!

Hello, and welcome to the Lovecraft Cafe, where I'll be introducing you to a character of literature that stands above the rest. A man of quality; a impeccable gentleman of unparalleled morals. The true standard excellence.

This man, is Simon Canderous. Here, you can observe him in one of his natural habitats - a coffee shop. The man with the strange white strip through his hair is his teacher, Connor Christos.

See the interaction between mentor and mentee; witness the awe inspiring ease he uses as he takes in his surroundings, the almost instinctual eye for detail he uses to track the happenings around him.

*CRASH*

The... uh, inner clutz that spills his coffee, erm, through the dead lady.

*Shrugs*

I never said he was *perfect*.

Well, if you've enjoyed this little shpiell, be sure to check out Simon Canderous in his very first novel, Dead to Me by the uber-talented Anton Strout. And on sale Feb. 24th, 2009 is Simon's next adventure, Deader Still.

Cheers!
(PS - I can attest to the fact that Dead to Me is quite good, and well worth the read!)
Hey! Got on a computer finally. Happy Birthday!!!! Soooooo, what are you going to buy with your gift certs? Have you decided yet? What are you reading right now?
I suppose I should have known, with it being aired on HBO, that it would be more Sopranos than Buffy. I too try to look at it the way I did The Dresden Files (which, once I got over the "They didn't follow the books at all!" outrage, was a very good show) - seperate entities sharing the bond of story line and characters, with 2 journeys that could hold very different results.

I am very much of the same mind with you on Tara in True Blood vs. Tara in the books. Tara was supposed to be this independent, strong woman who had overcome adversity to be someone that Sookie admired. But in the show she was straggling to keep a job, mouthing off at people she was supposed to be "serving." *Shrugs*

I did like the subtle things they slipped in that people who haven't read the books wouldn't get - like the dog that comes to Sookie when she rescues Bill, and the book that Grandma Stackhouse was reading (it was by Charlaine Harris, of course!).

All in all, I am anxious to see the next one (won't get to till Saturday when the baby takes her nap!). Guess we'll see how it goes!

Cheers!
So... did you get a chance to watch True Blood? My mum and I watched it yesterday. About 3 minutes into I was very glad my 2 year old decided she needed to spend some time with Grandpa.

*Blinks*

Won't say anymore in case you haven't seen it yet.

Cheers!
I agree with you on Haunted (Eve's Story) - that one was a bit hard for me to get through, but Broken (back to Elena) is awesome, as are No Humans Involved (Jaime Vegas) & Personal Demon (Hope Adams). They were wonderful!

Oo, I'm so glad someone else is as excited about the HBO series as I am! I actually started reading the books because the trailers looked interesting, and now I'm nearly halfway through book 7 and just got book 8 from the library.

I haven't read the Dante Valentine series yet, but they look wonderful. Oh, so many books, so little time!

Cheers!
I forgot, I did finish MJD. Fun stuff. I've got 6 books ready at the library now! Why does that feel like I won the lottery? :)
Have you seen the new Lilith Saintcrow? It's called Steelflower and it looks pretty good. Comes out Sept. 30th. Just got notified that the first three in the Kitty Norville series are ready for pick up at the library. Have you put them on hold yet?
Carrie Vaughn is awesome - I really love her Kitty Norville series. She has a very nice way of writing the wolf side of Kitty's nature. I found myself devouring the books as quickly as I could.

Haven't read Keri Arthur yet, although she is one of the next ones on the list. So many books, so little time... If I happen to read her before you do, i will be sure to elt you know what I thought of them (the excerpt I read was enough to make me want them, so I have high hopes).

Cheers!
Haven't read anything else of her's yet. But I really enjoyed Working for the Devil too. I have just acquired the second in that series. Plan on starting that soon. I have to tell you that the Weather Warden series has really surprised me. I finished the second one recently and really enjoyed it. I also just read Patricia Bigg's Cry Wolf. It was good, not great. Not as good as the Mercy Thompson series. But it's a first book so maybe the series will get better.
