Maus: A Survivors Tale sounds like a great book for students who are anxious to pick up a book. Any book that is hard to categorize usually grabs my interest, and it seems like this one would, too. I've been looking for books that my 8th grade students would enjoy and I'll definitely be looking into this one.
I enjoyed your review of Charles and Emma, Particularly the point you make in which the book reads like a Jane Austen Novel. The author manages to encapsulate the 19th century Victorian voice, which is used so frequently in Charles and Emma's diaries and letters, making a seamless segue between author notation and actual quotations from Charles and Emma's works. I truly enjoyed your review.
