About meAfter spending 15 years as a caregiver, I was left with a little money, a lot of time, and the conviction that if I don't make the attempt to make my living as an artisan, artist and writer now, I was a fool. In 2008, Dawn and I moved into a new place together, and we're kinda digging this communal life.

About my libraryReading is one of my great passions. I've had to downsize my library recently, but I still adore my books, and couldn't live without them. I'm trying to be sensible about what I keep and what I will be borrowing from the local library.

As of Feb. 21st 2009, the library also includes books owned by housemate, Dawn.

As of May 4th, 2009, the library also includes titles which I no longer own, but for which I have written reviews.

Also ondelicious, Etsy, Facebook, Flickr, LiveJournal, Ravelry

Hi, Dargie,

I'm Susan from Champaign, the same person who begged a Dreamwidth invitation from you. I am fascinated at the libraries of people I know; it's better than examining the bookcases in someone's house. We don't have a lot of the same books, but I enjoy your list for fiction I've not read; I think of my novel choices as driven by sociology; your novels seem much more driven by character and exotic personality - characters where personal relationships are central to their lives. That's a world of reading I need to explore. Of course, this means when I have time for reading; retirement is about 4 years away. In the meantime I can browse in your collection for titles to explore.
Hi, how is the day?
Hi Jean, I found your page because I was following CraigChaffin123's attempt at getting people to buy his book or whatever he is doing and I read your profile re:living your life as an artisan, artist and writer. That is my way of thinking right now also. My husband is quite supportive in allowing me to find my niche. I have always been a writer but am approaching it with a serious devotion as never before. Also I am trying my hand at several different art forms, paper crafts, sketching, painting. I feel a strong need to express my creativity. I have always been an avid reader and still enjoy it most of any hobby or pastime ever. It sounds like we are finding ourselves in the same place at this point in our life. I would enjoy hearing from you. In any case, the best of luck with your search for self-fulfillment.

Yea, I went thru the books I had sitting around the office. I didn't realize I had that many! Thanks for the scanner offer, I'll have to see how many I have left to do!
Hi, I just joined this site. I noticed that you're a poetry fan. Have you read Unexpected Light? Here's a link: http://www.cechaffin.com
Heigh ho, me hearty! I see you have a copy of “A Pirate of Exquisite Mind” in your library. The Highly-Rated Book Group is boarding the Pirate Ship of William Dampier and heading off into the high seas for a rollicking Buccaneering Adventure in the wild blue yonder. We are splicing the main brace and trimming the sails to set off with the tide on 3rd November 2008. So don’t be a landlubber, come and swash some buckles by climbing on board at:
