still going!
Well, I've been reading it. I haven't finished yet - I tend to multi-task in my reading. But - you being the author and all - I had better put it back to the top of the queue! (But I promise it is still on my bedside table!)
I did know that, though I must admit that I had forgotten that when I purchased the secondary text.

I'm gearing up for a larger study of Hegel. I also have it in my mind to study Kant and Descartes, but I care for them less.
I didn't know that you are the author of Nietzsche's Footfalls. I am a specialist in the Nietzsche-Wagner relationship and thus interested in your thoughts. From which angle do you approach their relationship? I approach them from their aesthetics - aesthetic agreements and disagreements.

Hope to hear from you,

Retirement?? Too much time to think on what "bubbles up" as opposed to dealing with an eight-hour day of "what-comes-next?" thinking. I am a retired Federal Govt. bureaucrat going where ever the latest book I have read leads me. That book, being Jill Bolte Taylor's My Stroke of Insight, which pointed me back 30 years to Julian Jaynes' The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind; now, I am a member of the Julian Jaynes Society (www.julianjaynes.org) and am "plugging in" Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, Husserl, Heidegger and Sartre along the way.
Perhaps we share only 11 books is a function of the relative sizes of our listed book inventories.
Dichter,

I received your shipment in suburb condition. Your inscription was more than expected. Thank you kindly. I'll give it a very through review following a detailed reading.

Everything received and sent well, my friend?
Oh, I forgot. I'll send the transfer some time next week when I have a little more money to spend on books.
Yes, though I could have been quoting "The Birth of Tragedy" quoting "Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg." I like Wagner's operas quite a bit and "Die Meistersinger" quite a lot- probably because I am enchanted with all of the boldness and contradiction for Germany's long nineteenth century, which Wagner brings to a spectacular artistic boil.
David,
I'll need an e-mail address to send you money via paypal.
Hi David,

I saw you started a new post - but in the wrong group! You posted in Group Talk. I already started a thread for your chat in the Author Chat group. Why don't you re-post your comment here?

You know, my friend, as a reader of Nietzsche I would love to read your "Nietzsche's Footfalls," but I can't seem to get ahold of the damned thing at a decent price. If the US dollar ever recovers I'll probably take Amazon.ca's $45 offer. In the meantime I'll recomend your book to The University of Tennessee's head librarian over the philosophy collection. She usually listens to me when I make requests.

Also, how does your book compare to that of, say, Reudiger Safranski whose "Nietzsche: A Philosophical Biography" I enjoyed immensely?
i didn't read your "Nietzsche's Footfalls" (i suppposed that a french translation doesnt existe). You can read my "postface" for Nietzsche fragments (http://www.decitre.fr/livres/Fragments-posthumes-sur-l-eternel-retour.aspx/97828...)

But if you want to send "Nietzsche's Footfalls" to me, it will be a pleasure !!!
thank's for your message

Well, thank you very much. I just updated that review for better flow (more fiber and what not). How was he, by the way?
