About me http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=der_erlkoenig

About my library I'm often asked by visitors whether I read the books I own. I'm perfectly content to answer that they're merely decorative.

Don't be shy, please say hello. I'm still adding books and images - almost done. Then I'll have to give inaccuracies the once-over and then tackle tags.

I'm secretly hoping this will win me the affections of a kind, deranged librarian. The internet's always about getting laid, isn't it?

Eesh, that's one scary, yet strangely adorable cat picture you've got there! :) We have 8 books in common. Greetings!
I'll be lobbying about wounded Veterans in DC from Califoria, and dropping by the FUTURIST book club event:

If you can drop by, say hello, introduce yourself to me.
I love your "About my library" description - quite funny.

I have a huge collection of books myself, and it will probably take me the rest of my life to read them, if I ever finish. They have been mainly about decoration for years it seems - maybe not by choice, but because I seem to go ga-ga about new books. It's very strange. I love the colorfully designed covers, the descriptions of their contents. I even love the smell of new and sometimes very old books. I have to own them, and then once I do, I have so many and so little time, that I never do follow my good intentions and find the time I wish I had to go back to them and further chase down their contents.

I'm a writer myself, so I guess I have a fixation with words, and they seem to stimulate me, keep me company and make me feel creative : )

So nothing wrong with having a lot of books. I am in D.C. too - just moved here and added you to my watchlist.

Sadly, my books were unable to move with me for the time being. They are so heavy, and would not all fit into my little GrandAm, and I didn't get enough relo money to ship their burdensome weight to my new locale; but little by little, I shall bring them home : )Jen
