About meI have a B.A. in geology and I'm currently a graduate student in museum studies/paleontology and a part-time freelance writer. I'm also a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism.
About my libraryOn the fiction side, I like fantasy and historical fiction, although these days I don't read a lot of fiction. I have a special weakness for historically-based Arthurian fiction.
Most of my nonfiction collection is about evenly split between science and history, with the science focusing on geology, paleontology, and evolution (heavy on Gould and McPhee) and the history split mostly between the Age of Sail, "Arthurian"/Roman Britain, and T.E. Lawrence. I'm also interested in the Mongol Empire. I'm just starting to build an Tudor-Elizabethan and 16th century Spanish history and material culture collection. I'm also slowly building a library of Very Expensive Scientific Monographs.
My fiction collection has a lot of Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Tamora Pierce, Rosemary Sutcliff, and Guy Gavriel Kay. I also like Fiona Buckley and Tasha Alexander at the moment, and I'm rereading Elizabeth Moon.
