About meApril and I live in Springfield, Missouri, USA, and were married in January of 2008; in September of that year, we bought a house and, with the aid of ten good friends, moved our meager belongings to three times the space we had previously. As one friend remarked, he's always been curious about our books, but he couldn't actually get to them before. Now we have room to actually approach the bookshelves.

April is currently pursuing her Masters in Counseling at Missouri State University, where I work in Computer Services as full-time staff, and we are active in the Springfield Vineyard Church.

About my libraryAs we prepared for April to move in with me (stuffing both of us into the tiny apartment I had at the time), we decided to move the bookshelves into the dining room and turn it into a very small library, making room for another dresser in the bedroom. After reading an article on Slashdot about library cataloging software, I did some research and eventually found LibraryThing, and subsequently became enthralled by the site. We set off to catalog all of our books before moving them, and now our eclectic collection (containing mostly fantasy fiction, to be honest, and whatever we find at the used book shop downtown that looks interesting) is well organized, shelved, and hopefully unique. (One of the prompts for my desire to catalog was discovering that I'd bought a book because I didn't know I already owned it... and while cataloging, I found several more duplicates.)
