About meCurrently visiting prof of painting and drawing at U. of Oregon. Grew up a bit in Eugene, moved around a lot, now I'm back home.
About my libraryIt all started sometime in the early 80's when I was barely a teenager and my dad gave me a paperback copy of Cannery Row. I've tried to compile all the books I've read since, leaving out the really embarrassing ones. I life spent reading is a good life.

I have been waiting for nearly four years for William Gay's novel The Lost Country. I have seen the art work change at least six times on different internet sites. Finally in mid October 2009, Barnes & Noble indicated that the book would be ready to ship on November 1, 2009. The book is still not available. I went to the Southern Festival of Books in October where William Gay was scheduled to appear. He was ill and couldn't attend, so I couldn't get an answer from him. Mr. Gay has no web site. The publisher MacAdam Cage has no email address and their phones are inoperable. Now recent internet sites are indicating that the novel may not be complete. May I ask where you got, what I assume is an advanced reader's copy? And is the novel complete? Any light you can shed on this issue would be appreciated. In all my years dealing in books I have never seen anything quite like this.
