About me Patti has been a public school teacher (twenty years, all kinds of history) and I have been a lawyer (thirty-seven years). We both now work with a small non-profit education foundation. We met 17 years ago in the graduate program of St. John's College, Santa Fe, and share a love of reading, talking, listening, learning.
About my library We have cataloged about 7,700 of approximately 8,000 books. Many of the rest are pre-ISBN and also audio books. They will take a bit of time and work. We are generalists (like the St. John's great books curriculum) but we both especially love history, I love moral philosophy and the history of science, and Patti loves (is that the right word?) politics. We are tagging now mostly to record the physical location of our books, hence the "shelf-" (being gradually replaced by "@") tags. We discovered LibraryThing from the WSJ article. We especially like the ability to export the catalog into a pocketpc excel file for reference in bookstores. We would use the cellphone approach if we could bring ourselves to buy better cellphones.
