Are you not coming online anymore, Dopey?
Hey Dopey. Hurry - check this out and spread the news to all your TwiNut buddies: http://www.librarything.com/topic/76290
Oh. Well I've gotten three so far after signing up five times. All you have to do is write a review on each one that's at least four lines long. The book's sent by the publisher of that particular book. They're just hoping to make sales based on your review is all. Am backlogged on reading them though, so am trying to get through them all while on break.

Will start Ink Exchange today. :)
Let me know when you get it. Am reading The Dragons of Trelian right now, but can read both at the same time if I'm still reading that one by the time you get Ink Exchange. I'll probably finish it before then though coz it's ever so good. I got it for free from here actually. Do you ever sign up for advanced copies of books?
Am off to the library now to see if I can get Ink Exchange out, Dopey. Wanna read it with me now? :)
hehe go right ahead hem hem be my guest!!!!!!

Just added you as a friend. :) You'll see the request at the top right on your page when you sign on and should have an email on it too as every time someone sends you a message or a friend request, it generates an email.

It's very confusing at first, but the instructions on the main page (further down) should help. If any don't work, let me know and I'll see if they need updating coz the site's gone through a few changes.
it is
its so fun
Im not sure. But me nad my frinds did put it on youtube. But I was absent that day. It wasn't until the next day they jumped out. The two that jumped out were Selena (she has short hair) and Enid (she has the long hair) and The two girls who stayed inside were my other two friends Amber (blonde one) and the one in the ponytail is Twila. But Amber deleted it, so, that sucks. But the girl on my profile? I don't know. I found her and thought she was very pretty. But yeah. A window. They survived tohugh. The windo was a short distance off the ground
Wierdos. Weirdos do not like candy! Haha. My friends jumped outta window. We caught it on tape.
yeah. I wanna read the series all over again, but im on the computer right now and I really dont wanna get off, so yeah. I really like that series. Justin says he's thinking about it being a blockbuster! VAMPIRATES, OH MY GOD! im still hyper. I like candy =D
I think I told you, you know how I like chapter 53? Becuase Molucco releases Connor from his articles? I barely noticed that Connor cries in that one! I rushed through it and I forgot. HHAHA! I was blind by Vampirates suspense. Cool!
cuz i finished it. You know how you zoom through books and then they're done? Like Twilight? Well, yeah, that's why. But I am so glad the story is continuing that makes my day!! Yeah.
im very angry that i finsidhed Black Heart . . . but god! It is sooo goooood. I tihnk it's actually better than the first one!

YEAH FOR TOAST
its my fav
I've got eight more chapters to go yet, Dopey. Am not sure when I'll have a chance to get to book two or three. If you're eager to read book three, I'd suggest reading it without me. The great thing is that once we start a series, we'll always be able to chat about it. Well ... minus spoilers in books I've not read yet. ;)

This is the last week for American Idol so I'll probably be online more often soon.
i lik drawing the hair the best

cuz u could d do so many things with hair

What's Up?
I'm bad. Really bad. I did so well up to chapter 14 and then put the book down and haven't picked it up since, and it's overdue. Have a fine now. Darn, darn, darn. Been too wrapped up with AI. It ends on Wednesday next week so not long to go now.
So I see. You're like Speedy Gonzalez. ;)
Whoa. Now I have to catch up to you. I slowed down coz I was way ahead. It's really good, isn't it? Why don't you start a thread since I'm still reading it? :)
thanx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hey im going to send a group request and friend request no k
Am halfway through chapter 12 now and love it so far.
Am on chapter nine now. It's really good. Do you like it?
Sure. Will add something to Bookmates about it so Gothgirl can join in if she still wants to read it. :)
Yep, I'll save it for you, but need to return it in three weeks.
Aw, I'm really sorry, Dopey, but I read it. Am up to book seven now and will save that one to read with you ok? I have "Vampirates: Demons of the Ocean" by Justin Somper out as well (Gothgirl123's choice) and haven't started it yet if you'd like to read that one with me after the sixth Sisters Grimm one, but let me know when you're ready coz I have to take it back to the library in a three weeks.
HEY! I haven't been online in forever. Work has been so hectic. I have two days off coming up so I hope I'll be able to have some days off. Sorry your letter is going to get out late, probably on Monday. So how has April been to you? I have a sister who's birthday is coming up and I have no idea what to get her. Anyways, thought I would drop in and say hi, see how everything was going.
You only got to school once a week?! O_O Man at my school we only had four classes a day and on the next day we had four different classes, it was called block scheduling. Was really confussing at first but after a while it was okay. Yeah I can't wait to start school, I haven't been to school since I graduated in 2003. I got your letter, your little short story sounds awesome! I read it and wanted more.
Aww, man that sucks! If my computer could copy DVDs I would TOTALLY send you a copy, special features and all. I'm glad you like the cds though, I think I should get your letter in the mail soon. Yeah, I would watch the movie online before it came out on dvd, it was fuzzy on mine too, unless I went to the library. So are you excited that schools almost out for the yr? I start college in the fall, can't wait!
Cool, I'm glad that you liked the cds and the envelope. I will be looking out for your letter. Cool, yeah I'll look over your story and give you my thoughts. I'll even use a different colored pen with my thoughts, k? So how has everything been going? How many times have you watched your copy of Twilight?
Hey there! I don't think I can hold my excitment in any longer. Okay so I worked last night and we had a meeting about this weekend and how to handle a rush incase it was busy Friday night. We've already got the shipment of the dvds!! But work won't let the ones who want a copy have one super early. That sucks. But anyways, I hope you like the soundtrack.
Yeah I know, it hurt, I still have the bruise on my shoulder and forehead. But I almost died laughing with the girl who hit me. She was staring at the tvs and not watching what she was doing. It was quite hilarious. We laughed at it while I told her all the goodies that Walmart would be getting soon. Oh, also, there's a fan site on http://www.myspace.com I can't remember the exact site but when I get it I'll tell you.
Oh it was funny because I actually got hit by a cart because they didn't see me. I wasn't mad, but my husband did literally have to drag me away from the tvs. The special features look totally awesome! I can't wait to get it so I can watch them. I even got to see a couple extended scenes. Like the meadow scene. The part where Bella says that her time was up and Edward says I think something along the lines that they shouldn't mess with fate. It was still pretty cool. I think I sat there for half an hour. LOL
Well you could have bunnies, chocolate eggs or chicks. :)
Easter's coming up. So is the first day of spring.
Wow. Your page is lovely. You've worked hard on it I see and seriously love Anime. Very impressive layout. I love it. :)
I met mmd4 a couple of years ago on a website I moderate as well.
Oh. I saw the friend request, but didn't know who she was. I thought I'd accepted it, but found I hadn't so have now. :) Are you friends in real life then?
Okidoke. :) What's her LT user name so I know it's her when I receive the friend request?
Hi, Dopey. It's The Unusual Suspects. When I add a series to my library, I add the name of the series followed by the book title in that series and add which book it is in parentheses after that, such as "(book 2)". You can see all the book in the series in this tag if you'd like to add them to your library: http://www.librarything.com/catalog/Herm... :)
Totally! I was walking through Walmart today and they were playing special features from the movie on all the tvs, I'm glad I had today off because I was totally sitting in the floor watching one of the big screen tvs. LOL!!
Hey I looked up the series and you don't have the three latest so here's the info. for you to add to your library:

Book 7 - Hot Air - released Aug. 26, 2008: http://www.amazon.com/Hot-Edgar-Ellen-Ch...
Book 8 - Frost Bites - released Nov. 25, 2008: http://www.amazon.com/Frost-Bites-Edgar-...
Book 9 - Split Ends - released Jan. 27, 2009: http://www.amazon.com/Split-Edgar-Ellen-...

There's also a Mischief Manual on the series, which you can see here: http://www.amazon.com/Edgar-Ellen-Mischi...

Have you visited the author's site? It's amazing. Here's the link to the books page on it: http://www.edgarandellen.com/books.php
Hey! Guess what?! Only 10 days left till Twilight comes out on DVD. Are you as excited as I am. I'm totally getting the 2-Disc Special Addition just to see what wasn't added to the movie, and to see Paramore's music videos. I love that group! Anyways, just thought I would drop in and say hello!
Which one is the second in the series, Dopey, so I can add it to my must reads?
Oh. Hey you've added another Edgar and Ellen book to your library recently I see. Have read the first one only so far. Are the others as good as the first or better perhaps? Have you read the A Series of Unfortunate Events series yet? The Edgar and Ellen series has been listed as similar which it is kinda. I have a tag you might like to check out if you like similar ones: http://www.librarything.com/catalog/Herm...
You're welcome, Dopey. Hope you get one. :)
Hey, Dopey. Please check out this thread ok coz you may enjoy some of these books and they're free if you snag them: http://www.librarything.com/topic/59493&.... There are 10 on the list this month for children/teens plus many others you may enjoy as well. :)
You're welcome. Hope it comes in helpful. :)
Hi again, Dopey. Thank you. Will add that book to my library as well. :)
Hi, Dopey. Below I've listed what I've learned since I joined, which I thought I'd share with my buddies as you might find it useful. It's really long, so I'd recommend opening up a Word document (you need to open Word first for it to work), then highlighting this whole message and pasting it in a new document in Word. Then you can print it so you can display it in front of you while you explore stuff. The links might not work that way, but if you keep this message on your Profile page, you can click on them on your page to get to them.

1. ADDING BOOKS: When adding books to your library, it's easier if you type the ISBN number in the white box after clicking on the "Add books" tab at the top of your page. That way, it will find the edition you own (useful if a book has many editions, i.e. The Hobbit). You can find the ISBN number on the back cover of your book at the very bottom. It's right above the bar code.

2. TAGS: You can sort each book by tags if you wish and can add as many tags to each book as you like. Just click on the book title in the "Add books" section or the pencil to the right of the book row in the "Your library" section to get to the section where you can add stuff. Then in the tags box, add the tags you wish, separating each one with a comma and space. For instance, for Lord of the Rings, you might do this: fantasy, mythical creatures, own, books read in 2009. For those I own, I add "own" as a tag and adding "books read in 2009" helps you track books you read by year. For those books I add that I don't own, but want to read, I add "must read" and "library - next order" as tags. Then when I want to order books online from my library (they email me when they're ready to be picked up coz some come from different branches and/or are on a waiting list), I go to that tag to order the ones I feel like reading next.

3. TAGS TAB: The Tags tab shows you your tags. If you decide you'd like to rename it, hover over the tab and click on Edit. Then type the new name in the box that pops up.

4. GROUPS TAB: The Groups tab is a good thing to explore as well. Once you click on it, click on Complete List on the right and you'll all the groups on Library Thing. There are tons. After clicking on one that interests you, if you decide you'd like to join it, just click on Join This Group at the top right. You can click on Leave This Group in the same spot if you decide to leave it later.

5. RECOMMENDED GROUPS: If you're a Twilight fan, I'd highly recommend joining Twilight Club (there's one where TwilightClub is one word, but I mean the one where it's two words), New Moon Movie and Edward Cullens Lovers. Those are the most active. Also, I check Twilight news daily and am constantly adding the latest news I find to Twilight Club and sometimes New Moon Movies as well so you can keep up with the latest that way.

There are loads of other Twilight/vampire groups as well plus you might find one for your fave author on the list. There are also groups for children's fiction and teen readers, plus fantasy and fairytales fans among the list.

A really good group to join is "Name that book". If you're struggling to remember a book title, you can add a thread to it with information you remember about a book and ask members if it rings any bells. You'd be surprised how many know which book you mean based on the smallest amount of information or age of the book.

6. CREATING YOUR OWN GROUP: If you'd like to create your own group, it's easy. Just go to the "Groups" tab at the top and click on "Create a new group" on the right. It's best to click on "Complete list" first though to see if there's one for the same topic already. There are many Twilight groups, for instance, so members can miss out on current news if they're not part of all of them. It's easier to track stuff when there's one, or one by age group if members want to categorize them that way.

7. TALK TAB: The Talk tab shows you threads that have the latest chat for the groups you're in so you can track conversations that way.

8. LOCAL TAB: If you click on Local, you can add local bookstores, but as you're a child/teen (since I'm not sure which), I'd advise you not to add yours for safety reasons.

9. ADDING FRIENDS:

a. The easiest way to add friends though is when you're on someone's Profile page already that you want to add. Then you just click on "Add to Friends" at the top right.

b. Another way is to click on Find Friends under the Search tab at the top right on your Profile page, then Edit/View Connections at the top. It's best to do it this way rather than signing into your email account. I don't trust the security personally when it comes to typing in my password for another site. It's one more place where it can be hacked into. After clicking on Edit/View Connections, you can add your friend's name on the right. You could ask them to join the way I asked you, for instance. Then you could look up their Library Thing name to add them as a friend. After adding their name in that box, click on Search to find them. It will take you to their page. Then click on Add Friend's List at the top right.

10. MEMBERS WHO HAVE YOUR BOOKS IN THEIR LIBRARY: Once you've added books, it will show you on the right of your page which members share your books and how many they share. Sometimes I visit their pages to look at their libraries and read their page. Have made a few friends that way and also found some really good books in their libraries which I've added to my own for future reading. If you like someone's library, you can click on "Add to interesting libraries" on the right of their profile page (as you did with me) and it will appear on your page on the right under the Member Connections section.

11. HOME TAB: If you click on your "Home" tab, you'll see "Customize your page" in very small print near the top. You can change how your home page looks that way so it only includes information that interests you or that you want visitors to your page to see.

12. TOOLS TAB: There's a "Tools" tab at the top right that you may wish to check out. It teaches you how a lot of stuff works. Also, if you click on the Groups tab, then Site Talk on the left, you can ask questions there about things you don't understand or just to query whether it's possible to do something on this site. Have always gotten responses the same day.

13. HEADINGS BELOW TABS: Below your tabs at the top of your Profile page, you'll also see several headings to click on that you can explore as well.

14. ADVANCED COPIES OF BOOKS FOR FREE: Every month a list of advanced copies of books is posted. You can sign up for free advanced copies of books each month too. The second month I requested some, I got one in the mail. The catch is you have to write a review that's more than 40 words in your own words, but that's really easy. To sign up, go here, but it's best to ask your mom first coz you have to put your address: http://www.librarything.com/er/signup. They only use that to send you books though. Your name and address aren't published anywhere. They only publish your user name.

Once you've signed up, go to your "Profile" tab, then click on "Edit profile/account settings" on the right, then "Account" at the top left and then click inside the circle to the left of "Allow LibraryThing to give reviews to both non-commercial and commercial entities (booksellers, swap sites, publishers, authors, street gangs)", then Save Changes at the bottom. If you do that, you're more likely to get a book you've requested. I read it in the FAQ section.

They don't add many books for children/teens, but this month there are four or five on the list so you should take a peek. You'll see that many have requested books, but don't worry about that. They don't go on a first come, first served basis. It's based on books in your library, whether you've added reviews for books before and other reasons. They explain it here: http://www.librarything.com/wiki/index.p...

To see the list of books of February, just click on this: http://www.librarything.com/er/list. Then go down the list and click on "Request it" for books that interest you. You can request as many as you like. The flags on the right below the Request it button show what countries the books are available in. There are a couple only available in Canada, for instance, so the publishers will only send those to people who live in Canada.

15. ADDING WHAT YOU'RE CURRENTLY READING TO YOUR PROFILE (see my profile for an example):

a. Click on Edit profile/account settings at the top right of your page and type something like this in EITHER the "About Me" box or the "About my library" box:

Currently reading Magic and Other Misdemeanors by Michael Buckley (book five in The Sisters Grimm series)

b. Add a blank line between the text and following code so it's not all bunched up together.

c. Copy the following code onto the next line, but in order for me to show you how the code looks, I need to add four spaces show it shows you the code so you'll have to delete those afterwards (the space after < at the beginning; the space before and the space after the < that's before img style; and the space before > at the end):

< a href="/work/2946544/book/35347918"> < img style="height:100px; border:1px solid black;" src="___________________________________" >

The line isn't supposed to be there. That is to show you where the code goes for the book you're currently reading. To get the code for that spot, go to the book in your library and click on the book title. Right click on the big book cover at the top left and choose "Copy Image Location" from the menu that pops up.

16. ADDING A WIDGET TO YOUR PROFILE: There are two New Moon widgets here if you'd like to add one or both to your profile that can be found at http://www.newmoonmovie.org/release-date....

At the top left of both widgets (pics with countdowns to the movies in this case), it says SHARE in tiny letters. Click on that, then either click on COPY or double click on the code in the box to copy it.

Now go to your profile page, click on "Edit profile/account settings" and put your cursor in the "About me" or "About my library" box at the place in that box where you'd like the widget to appear. Then click on Save at the bottom of the page.

If you click on your profile tab at the top now, voila! You'll see your snazzy new widget.

17. ADDING A MUSIC PLAYLIST TO YOUR PROFILE:

a. Click on http://www.myflashfetish.com.

b. Click on "Login" in the top right corner.

c. Click on "Sign Up Now" in the middle of the screen.

d. Fill in the information, but please don't upload a picture as it is not safe. For the email address, it's best to create a free MSN email address and use that one and not one your parents pay for that may also have your real name in it.

e. Once you've created an account, sign in on the left with your email address and password.

f. Click on the "Home" tab in the top left corner.

g. Type the name of a song in the search box near the top right corner, then click on "Search MP3".

h. You'll now see a list of songs. Some of these work and some don't so you need to test them first to find one that works. On the right of each one is a speaker icon and a cart icon. Click on the speaker icon next to one of those songs.

i. A vertical red stripe will appear on the left under that song with blue beside it. If it worked, the red stripe will quickly shoot across the horizontal box and then the blue will start to move to the right. This means that link works.

j. Double click inside the box above that horizontal box to highlight the code. You have now copied it.

k. Click on the MP3 tab at the top.

l. You will see a red thing in the middle of the page that looks like a key. Click on "Create" underneath that key.

m. You will see a box at the bottom with two columns and six rows. This is called a playlist and you can add up to six songs here by adding the title of each one on the left and the code to each song on the right. When someone goes to your page and stays there, the playlist will play through each of those six songs. In order to add six songs, you will need to open http://www.myflashfetish.com in another Internet window so you can use one window to search for songs and the other to add the code to this playlist. This is not necessary, however, if you want to add just one song.

n. Add the title of the song you just looked up to the left side of the top row.

o. Put your cursor in the top right box, right click your mouse (click on the right button) and choose "Paste". The code you copied earlier will now be in that box.

p. Once you have copied all the song titles and code into the boxes, you are ready to choose the color of your key.

q. On the left, drag the scroll bar down to see all the color choices and click on the one you'd like.

r. Below the boxes on the right is a button that says "Add MP3's". Click on that.

s. Everything in the boxes has now disappeared, but that's what's supposed to happen. In the bottom right corner, click on the red button that says "I'm Done".

t. You will now be on a page that has two boxes with code. Place your cursor inside the BOTTOM box (it will probably say "Embed Code" above it) and double click to copy the code. (Double clicking on top of that code is how you copy it. If that doesn't work, highlight the code, then right click on the highlighted part and choose COPY from the little menu that pops up.)

u. Now go to your profile page on Library Thing and click on "Edit profile/account settings" at the top right.

v. There are two places you can add this on your page. One is in the "About me" box and the other is the "About my library" box. Place your cursor at the spot in the box of your preference where you want the music to appear, right click your mouse (click on the right mouse button) and choose "Paste" from the little menu that pops up.

w. Click on "Save" below the box.

x. Click on the "Profile" tab at the top of the page and you will now see and hear your playlist. Woo!

Ok you can rest now. Phew!

~ Hermee
Hi Dopey,

You're welcome. :) We have very similar tastes in books it seems. I've only read the first so far in the Edgar & Ellen series, but plan to read the rest. Have all the other books in your library too, including Skeleton Man and Playing With Fire, which I just added coz both sound really good. It says in the title that Playing With Fire is book two though. Do you know which one is book one? It's not in your library so I clicked on the author's name, but it doesn't say which is which in the series.

I have a fun group I'll invite you to called Bookmates that's very new. Each of us creates a thread with the books we plan on reading next. Then if you'd like to read one on someone's list, you reply to say which one and read it together. The way it works is in the description when you enter the group too. Hope to see you in there. :)
