About meI love to read. You will always find me with a book in my hand.
I also work at a public library, so I see all the new items come in. This is a blessing, but my list of books I want to read is so long.
I'm a single mom (widow) of 1 daughter. My Life is very full of fun and laughter.
Please feel free to add me as a friend. I am a loyal person, and will write back every few days or so! Take Care & Keep Smiling.
About my libraryI am trying to find answers to alot of questions about life. But I also love to read Sf/Fantasy.

To answer your question, I don't have the Kindle but did you hear about "Nook" from Barnes & Noble? I'm thinking of getting one. It has a color display vs. Kindle with only black & white. You can go to any of their stores and view any book right on the Nook for free, if you want it you can purchase before leaving or if not when you leave it erases from your unit. They look pretty neat! Literally. That would mean a whole lot less clutter around here thats for sure LOL.

Yes my little guy is getting quite big, he's well more than half my height already! Been very busy here. No relocation for us, seems on the back burner for now, which is OK. Don't want to disturb my son's routine or friends at Pre-K, he loves it so much. Between my husband and I both we have been back and forth with health issues over here but so many people deal with that sort of thing it seems, everyone I know has something, you know what I mean? Other than that I'm working on some new things to sell in an upcoming show. I never was accepted to that gallery but that's OK really. I'm trying to get away from fine art and sticking more with "decorative arts" now. Seems a whole lot easier to sell and make some money so I'll go with that!
Hope you are doing well. Now that the weather is getting cooler I'll be indoors more and of course, on the computer more.
Here's to enjoying the fall and hopefully staying in closer touch!

Sorry I've been away from this site for soooo long!! Things have been so busy I guess. I didn't forget about you! I keep meaning to log on and you know how that goes I'm sure. How's everything with you? I see you sent your AOL address so I will def. send you an e-mail so we can keep in touch.
My artwork wasn't accepted but I've been working on more projects over here and figure I'll keep making things and once I have enough of a variety I'm bound to find customers, somehow! So far I've got a few paintings, a few old windows I've turned into art and a few pillows...we'll see I guess!
Hope your summer was good, for me I'm so glad Fall is here, I just love this time of year.
Last book I read was Paula Deen's "It ain't all about the cookin" and I really loved it. Kind of a slow start to catch my interest but once I got a few chapters in she had me hooked, she's quite a lady! Hearing about all the obstacles she has overcome to get where she's at left me feeling quite inspired...that's never a bad thing, right?
Talk to you soon, stay blessed~

Singing sweet songs

Happy New Year! I figured your holidays were busy, things got pretty busy over here and everything was good. We had 40 people here for New Year's Day, everyone had a great time but the kids were a little wild!
Other than that, we all got the bug the next day and it's taken me forever to get rid of this cough. I haven't had much time for reading lately myself, so I retreated to the tub for a few pages of solitude when Noah came in and dumped my Knitting Club into the tub. So I haven't gotten back to that but moved on to reading a bit of this and that...I was hoping your holidays were merry!!
It snowed like crazy here and has been so cold we are hibernating. I just finished a painting and submitted to a local gallery, I'll find out on 1/31 if they accepted me for the national women's exhibition in March. Wish me luck! I'm so nervous, this is my first try at this so we'll see. And wow you had a full month off, good for you!!!!
Well my friend it's so great to hear from you again and we'll talk soon! I hope your daughter is feeling better...
Hugs!

Hope you are having a nice holiday. Ours was nice but I'll be glad for next year and a fresh start. I'm still only 1/4 way through 'the friday night knitting club' but so far I'm enjoying it. God bless you and your family,

Forgot to ask have you read your new Debbie Macomber book yet? I got Christmas Letters the other day and was wondering if you've read it yet.

Thank you for your kind words, and Noah says a BIG thank you for the hug. He's doing so much better now, lots of prune juice and less carbs. The sweet potatoes are way too much work, but they are delish. Not a tough recipe, it's just the chopping & peeling all those potatoes that seems to be the pain. But they taste fluffy, mild & sweet. If you want the recipe let me know, you could always buy the canned sweet potatoes.
So the books are from Literary Guild. I'm addicted to book clubs. Today I got 5 more: The christmas chronicles, two from the "tea shop mystery" series, and two from "the cat who" series (they have 3 stories each) - that's the first 6 stories in the series. I'm excited, I've been wanting to read them.
That's it for the book clubs for now though. I belong to 4 so I need to stop somewhere. My dad gets all his from 'friends of the library' but it's slim pickings over by me.
Is it snowing there? We are starting to get some now. I wanted to go buy a tree tomorrow morning, Martha Stewart $99 normally is half-off tomorrow only. I'm sure hoping it's not too bad out there or I won't be going anywhere. I lived in Fla too long and somehow forgot how to drive in the snow!
Hope you have a great weekend!
Your friend in Buffalo (who is freezing),

Sounds like you had a great Thankgsgiving. Jury duty always sounds so interesting. I waited forever to be called, finally I got a notice for Fl. court but I had already moved back to WNY. At least you got some good reading time in. Our Thanksgiving was a bust. We took my son to the emergency room, he's ok now though. I never even got to eat my dinner, and I had 4 no-shows (and no call) for dinner, so I spent all that time and care for nothing. I was so upset. They would have had to leave anyway so it worked out. Guess there's always next year. It did work out well in one aspect: I ended up with lots of praline sweet potatoes for myself, I've been eating them for breakfast every morning!
I haven't read any J.D. Robb, although I have been tempted. Now that I know someone who likes the books I may have to give them a read myself. Just got a new shipment of books today, by Kate Jacobs...the "knitting" series, and some on French Country decorating. Oh also 'The christmas letters' by Debbie Macomber.
Have a wonderful day, hope to talk to you soon!

I'm going out to buy my turkey tomorrow, I have to look at my menu/notes from last year to see what I even bought. Without that, I'd have no clue. This is only my 2nd turkey. Everyone said it was the best so now the pressure is on! I brined it so that must have made a huge difference. So many years of everyone else doing it I figured it was time to start my own tradition. And then there's the turkey song and some sort of craft for Noah. Need to find some way to keep a 3yr old busy while I'm preparing!
Enjoy your double holiday :)
