About meOver the past two years, I have developed into a voracious reader, I believe, due in part that after working in the television industry for over twenty years, I find viewing television uninteresting because of the derivitive nature of television means that I've seen it all done before and after a day of working in tv, I need a diversion that takes me away. Reading affords me quiet time to myself to explore ORIGINAL stories that aren't (usually) derivitive in the way TV can be. I like using my imagination through reading instead of experiencing someone else's imagination as one does when watching visual media.
About my libraryI'm most interested in reading fiction and literature. I enjoy selecting a book that is entirely different from the one that I just completed. In this way, I cover a wide scope of reading. I also enjoy non-fiction, but am much more selective about what I read in this genre, meaning it must be a topic that is of interest to me, whereas, when reading fiction, I explore ideas, cultures and stories that expand my knowledge through a compelling, emotionally involving story.
