About meDon't let the photo fool you, I was trying to look pensive and worldly. I'm usually neither. :P

I am a researcher into that little-known Japanese (and now American) phenomenon of "yaoi," the genre of comics and stories intended for a female audience, but featuring boys and men in love (or lust) with each other.

While I wait for my first book on this topic to be published, I pay my bills as an editor. In my spare time, I write poetry, read manga and sometimes download anime (current favorites are Bleach and Ouran High School Host Club).

About my libraryYou might notice that there are certain themes running throughout my library. There's a reason for that. This is my research library. It contains those manga from Japan and from America with certain themes of boy's love, gay love, homoerotica, you name it. A few English language novels are thrown in there as well, along with Japanese art books which perpetuate the theme.
